Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, validate, and document project requirements.

Compile clear and comprehensive formal documentation, including requirements and solution proposals.

Develop and present proposed solutions to business users, ensuring alignment with operational and regulatory needs.

Translate business requirements into actionable deliverables for technical and non-technical teams.

Apply subject matter expertise in data to challenge, refine, and enhance stakeholder requirements.

Facilitate and actively participate in workshops with internal and external stakeholders.

Conduct system and integration testing to ensure solution quality and compliance.

Monitor project risks and issues, escalating them to management when required

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Data Analyst within tax-related projects, ideally covering VAT and FATCA.

Strong proficiency in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Solid understanding of data analysis techniques, including data mapping, cleansing, and transformation.

Skilled in presenting analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Knowledge of system and integration testing processes and best practices.

Familiarity with business analysis techniques and creating functional specification documentation.

Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups in a structured project environment.

Background knowledge of tax compliance regulations and international reporting standards.

The Bloomberg indirect tax team is part of the Global Bloomberg LP Accounting operations. Whatu2019s in it for you



You will be part of a collaborative and dynamic indirect tax team. You will report directly to the EMEA regional indirect tax compliance team leader. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare VAT/GST returns and other statistical reports for a number of countries and work with our outsourced provider and LBKs in the preparation and submission of timely returns. You will also work on operational indirect tax projects that will improve the quality of source data and reporting efficiency and provide indirect tax assistance and support to the wider business.



We will trust you to


Prepare VAT/GST returns and related VAT/GST compliance filings for Bloombergu2019s operations across multiple jurisdictions. Duties will include extracting and reconciling relevant data from financial reporting systems, liaising with colleagues in tax and finance teams and other parts of the business and preparing draft VAT/GST return calculations;
Work with external advisors to ensure the accurate and timely submission of indirect tax returns and related compliance filings;
Ensure that all indirect tax filing deadlines are met in compliance with the tax calendar;
Conduct research on EMEA indirect tax related queries and assist with responding to indirect tax related queries from other parts of the business;
Monitor and implement any country VAT/GST rate and rule changes specific to Bloomberg's business in addition to any VAT implementation developments;
Assist with other tax related project work such as implementing VAT process change, maintaining the tax calendar, and other tax related projects as appropriate.



You need to have


A minimum of 5 years Indirect tax compliance experience, preferably in-house with a large multi-national corporation or an Indirect Tax compliance function within a professional services firm.
Experience in supporting process, systems and technology initiatives that create greater control and efficiency in VAT reporting.
A desire to take ownership, challenge existing processes and use your intuition to drive change and meet agreed goals.
Experience using financial reporting systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel to extract analyse and reconcile data.
Sound knowledge of EMEA VAT/GST legislation.
Ability to prioritise high volume of activities and tasks to meet deadlines.

As a Sr Risk Manager in EU3P Compliance programs - you will define the strategy and inspect execution plans for high visibility and complex tax or trade compliance program across EU and UK. You will influence cross VP organizations to (1) shape the risk appetite for executive leadership, (2) review regulatory obligations and process designs of seller enforcement and regain strategies for EU and UK marketplaces, (3) advise teams in adequate control setup, (4) drive auditing strategies and assurance missions for validation and (5) drive a comprehensive risk assessment across pillars and develop mitigations to continuously improve the companies risk posture.

A day in the life

Later on you have a meeting with the controllership and internal audit team to review your latest auditing strategy and plans for putting a compliance monitoring plan into action and then check on progress of mitigation strategies for identified risks. Later you meet with our internal "compliance advisory" team to learn more about the best practices they recommend.
Throughout the day, you'll engage with executive stakeholders to shape risk appetite and report out on risk & assurance goals.

  • Liaise with external tax advisors and local authorities as needed
  • Assist in internal and external audits, and promote financial control improvements
  • Review expense claims for compliance and accuracy

Accounting Officer -The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Fluent Mandarin and English in writing and speaking
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Taxation, Accounting, or a related field
  • Relevant work experience in EU Tax / Familiarity with European tax regulations
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA are a plus
