A Team Leader / Warehouse Lead Hand is required for a steel manufacturing and stockholding company in the Wolverhampton area of the West Midlands. They are a well-established company, and this is a great opportunity to join a leading stockholder and distributor of steel components, including flanges and fittings.
You will be responsible for a range of duties including;
- Working closely with the Warehouse Manager to supervise and assist warehouse staff
 - Ensure stock control & location procedures are adhered to
 - Maintain accurate stock control management.
 - Co-ordination & control of sub-contract processing in line with customer deadlines.
 - Goods inwards receipt & despatch note documentation / administration.
 
Ideally you will be an experienced warehouse operative and will also have some experience of supervisor / team leader duties.
To settle into the role, you will likely work on the warehousing duties, picking, packing, loading / unloading, etc., for your first few weeks.
This position is working;
- Days - 8:00am - 4:30pm / 3:30pm finish Fridays
 - Paying - 14.00 per hour to start
 - Temp to perm

The Role of Line Leader
We’re looking for a hands-on Line Leader to join our growing manufacturing team. Reporting into the Team Leader, the Line Leader will take responsibility for a sub section enusring effective day to day running of the cell.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Team Leader / Engineering to implement daily production schedules.
 - Continually evaluate the production processes in their area to make efficiency improvements where possible and eradicate any ‘bottlenecks’ where possible.
 - Monitor part stock levels to ensure that the line is continually supplied with all the parts and equipment required to keep production moving.
 - General manufacture roles across a range of sections to be able to support in different areas where resource is needed.
 - First line of contact in terms of monitoring of quality and production levels to highlight any problems to the Team Leader / Engineering in a timely manner and to work with them to bring a resolution.
 - To take part in, and also to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and 6S on site.
 - Monitor and update employee target boards and complete overall cell logs and any other records/documentation required.
 - Support on completion of 8D process with Quality Team when there are any issues and ensure corrective actions are followed by Associates.
 - Support on new product introduction to provide more focused support to Associates to achieve quoted targets while maintaining quality.
 - Updating of skill matrix
 - Support Team Leaders with PDP process by providing feedback on Associates.
 - Ensure that the work area is safe and clean and that factory employees are following health and safety guidelines and making interventions where required.
 - Have a brief understanding of Engineering drawings and proficient in using basic measuring equipment (vernier, tape measure)

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a production line, ensuring operational targets are met across safety, quality, and output. You’ll combine hands-on leadership with continuous improvement thinking to optimise performance, reduce waste, and support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
The Role
- Lead and manage a team of line operators to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
 - Ensure daily operational KPIs (output, quality, waste, downtime) are met and escalate issues as needed.
 - Support and drive root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues, collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to implement robust corrective actions.
 - Continuously monitor and optimise line processes for efficiency, safety, and product quality.
 - Champion best practices in lean manufacturing, 5S, and standardised work to maintain a high-performing production environment.
 - Coordinate changeovers, process adjustments, and start-ups to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
 - Support the introduction of new equipment or process changes, providing practical insight from a line management perspective.
 - Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, and H&S procedures at all times.
 - Train, coach, and mentor operators to build capability, versatility, and engagement across the line.
 - Maintain accurate records and reporting (shift logs, downtime, performance metrics).
 - Work cross-functionally with quality, engineering, planning, and logistics to resolve issues and align priorities.
 
The Person
- Experience in a supervisory or team lead role within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

 - Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a team.
 - Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
 - Good working knowledge of H&S and quality standards in manufacturing.
