In this role, you will carry out installation, maintenance, and commissioning of roadside technology equipment, supporting the smooth operation of the highways network.
This is an excellent opportunity to work hands-on with advanced motorway technology that keeps our roads safe, efficient, and reliable. Working closely with the Assistant Project Manager - Roadside Technology, you will ensure that all works are delivered safely, to high-quality standards, and in line with client expectations. The role involves travel to sites across the NH East contract and collaboration with internal teams and specialist subcontractors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance, and testing of roadside technology equipment.
- Undertake software, hardware, and systems testing to ensure equipment functionality and reliability.
- Support the Assistant Project Manager in planning and delivering projects, including assisting with budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Supervise operational teams and subcontractors on site to meet productivity and quality targets.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures, producing required documentation.
- Complete accurate and timely reporting from all systems, achieving KPIs in line with annual objectives.
- Work proactively to identify and implement operational improvements and contribute to the ongoing development of the team.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in installation or maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment.
- ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Familiarity with HERS registration and requirements.
- Willingness to work in roadside environments, at heights, and during night shifts when required.
- Strong understanding of roadside technology, including CCTV, ANPR, MIDAS, AMI, message signs, environmental sensors, traffic monitoring/control systems, electrical supplies, and networking (IP, LAN, WAN, Routing, etc.).
- Proficient in basic computer applications (Word, Excel).
- Full UK driving licence.

About the Role: The Cyber Security Project Manager will lead the delivery of the Cyber Essentials Security Programme, focusing on achieving compliance and certification with Cyber Essentials Plus. This role is responsible for managing the project from inception to launch, ensuring all technical planning, documentation, and governance processes are in place. The Project Manager will work closely with the Cyber Security Manager and other key stakeholders to coordinate the discovery and implementation phases, manage risks, and oversee procurement and onboarding of security tools.
Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential, as the role involves chairing meetings, delivering presentations, and ensuring all deliverables meet security standards. - Coordinate procurement and onboarding of tools (e.g., Tenable add-ons) and services.
- Identify and engage all stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of objectives, progress, and changes.
- Prepare and deliver stakeholder presentations and communications plans.
- Identify, document, and manage project risks, dependencies, and issues.
- Ensure timely identification & mitigation of blockers (e.g., legacy system decommissioning, resource constraints, vendor dependencies)
- Lead change management activities, including CAB submissions, user communications, and training.
- Develop user guides and documentation to support end-user readiness and adoption.
- Ensure all deliverables meet Cyber Essentials Plus requirements and align with organisational security policies.
- Oversee gap analysis, mock assessments, and third-party audits.
- Monitor and report on measurable benefits (e.g., reduced vulnerabilities, improved training compliance).

THE ROLE - Design Technology Teacher
As a Design Technology Teacher you will be teaching Key Stage 3 - 4, with the offering of Key Stage 5 to be added to the timetable for a capable practitioner in the future. You will need to be confident in delivering GCSE to a high standard. Ideally you will have an undergraduate degree in a related Design Technology field along with the appropriate Design Technology teacher training qualification. If you have experience in teaching or an interest in other topic areas within Design Technology this will be advantageous. As with any Design Technology Teacher role, the ability to teach through the Design Technology syllabus is desired.
Students and teachers alike enjoy lessons, which make for a positive and purposeful atmosphere throughout the school. This school is only looking to employ passionate educators, candidates who are prepared to fully immerse themselves in the school community, be willing to plan, prepare and deliver all lessons independently and take part in extra curricular activities.
The Design Technology Teacher department is well resourced and well run, the team work together and continually raise standards. They have a great work space, bright and airy classrooms and a well stocked Design Technology suite that is managed by an efficient and experienced Technician. Each individual subject area has their own dedicated specialist technician. Enterprise and critical thinking is embedded in the school's ethos and teaching right across the curriculum, and this has been found to bring passion and excellence to teaching and learning.
This position will be starting in October on a permanent basis and would suit either an ECT or experienced teacher. The school offers great training plus a clear and attainable path for promotion - many responsibility post holders have been promoted from within the departments.
