Job Title - IT Support Analyst


Location - Glasgow City Centre


Hours - 40 hrs per week


Optical Express is one of the World’s leading providers of Laser eye surgery with the largest number of clinics throughout the UK and Europe. A progressive organisation, we operate over 110 clinics. The group operates in the UK, Ireland, Croatia and Germany.


A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Optical Express at a really exciting time, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced IT Support Analyst to based in our Head Office in the city Centre of Glasgow.


The role will involve supporting both the head office and operational areas of the business; as such an understanding of diverse infrastructures alongside the ability to analyse, detect, diagnose and resolve issues, whilst providing a high degree of customer satisfaction are all fundamentals. The role requires visits to our sites throughout Scotland so a driving license will be essential.


Candidates will be a confident communicator with a sound mix of analytical ability and customer service awareness gained within an IT Helpdesk/Service Desk/Call Centre environment.


Hours of work are predominantly between 8AM and 5.30PM on a rotational shift pattern basis and a degree of flexibility is required.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, networks, mobile devices, and printers.
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of IT tickets, including communication and technical resolution.
  • Appreciation of Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
  • Good experience with Active Directory - adding user accounts, troubleshooting, user network access permission, AD account administration etc.
  • Visiting company locations to provide on-site support and collaborating with team members during projects.
  • Responsible for managing mobile devices, configuration, and troubleshooting any issues.
  • Experience in troubleshooting MS Windows 10, 11 as well as Office 365.
  • Microsoft accreditations such as MCP and / or MCSE and ITIL would be advantageous.
  • The role requires a confident communicator with a sound mix of analytical ability and customer service awareness gained within an IT Helpdesk/Service Desk/Call Centre environment.
  • Creating and applying user groups, permissions and settings using NTFS and Windows Group Policy.
  • Tracking asset management by managing stock, issuing items and maintaining records.

The Opportunity

This newly created role will see you play a pivotal part in ensuring that the organisation's IT and Strategic Development departments maintain a robust oversight framework and adhere to all internal and regulatory requirements. Working closely with first and second line teams, you’ll be responsible for ensuring high standards are consistently upheld, controls are in place and tested, and areas for improvement are identified and acted upon.


What You’ll Be Doing

Developing and maintaining an effective oversight framework for all IT and Strategic Development activity, including digital and telephony channels.

Performing monthly control testing and providing feedback to senior stakeholders on oversight performance.

Supporting process reviews to ensure strong customer outcomes, in line with Consumer Duty, CONC, TCF, and GDPR.

Collaborating with Compliance and IT teams to enhance existing procedures and identify risks or poor outcomes.

Using management information and operational tools to tailor monitoring activity and strengthen governance.

Keeping current with sector developments, internal procedures, and regulatory scorecard updates.


What We’re Looking For

Solid experience in IT oversight, ideally within financial services.

Background in quality assurance, with strong working knowledge of CONC, TCF, and GDPR.

Understanding of IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, or ITIL.

Preferred certifications include CISA, CRISC or CISM.

Lead complex projects as a Senior Project Manager in HR Technology Services. Working closely with a diverse set of partners, you will implement, support, maintain, and improve HR systems in line with strategic business and IT roadmaps!
**Responsibilities**
+ Lead multi-functional Technology projects from initiation through delivery, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and initiative.
+ Partner with HR, IT, and other partners (including vendor partners) to deliver projects on time, on budget, and in scope.
+ Lead day-to-day program activities and related meetings, including core team and external partners.
+ Develop project plans, business requirements, solution design & delivery, testing, and hypercare.
+ Maintain knowledge and expertise in Human Resources processes, HR data, and HR systems.
+ Build domain expertise and institutional knowledge of key Thermo Fisher HR systems and how they are used across the business.
+ Ensure project targets are met by handling resources, issues, and risks optimally.
+ Handle prioritization decisions and change requests throughout the program lifecycle.
+ Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, providing remediation plans if needed.
+ Communicate key risks, issues and status to management and sponsors, completing risk mitigation and remediation activities.
+ Follow and improve standard methodologies and tools for project implementation and management.

**Basic Qualifications**

+ 8+ years of related work experience.
+ Shown success in leading projects/programs within the HR Technology domain within a global, matrixed organization (5+ years).
+ Ability to handle the complexities of M&A activities within a large, global organization.
+ Experience running programs across geographical regions, functional teams, and applications.
+ Demonstrable experience in HR processes, data, and systems (e.g., HCMs, LMS, ATS, Time & Absence systems, and Service Delivery tools such as ServiceNow).
+ Strong tactical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong planning, coordination, mediation, and leadership capabilities.
+ Ability to engage with and influence diverse groups, executives, managers, and domain authorities.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Expertise in core HR, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, talent management, payroll, time & attendance
+ Experience leading M&A integration programs cutting across HR and other business technologies.
+ Experience leading post-M&A integration projects, focusing on aligning systems and processes across diverse entities.
