A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Design & Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Andover area. Starting in September 2025 , this full-time role covers a range of Technology subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4 , with the potential for a Lead Teacher of Technology position for an experienced and ambitious candidate.
About the SchoolThis secondary school serves students aged 11–16 and is committed to delivering an engaging and broad curriculum. The Technology Department is well-equipped, collaborative, and central to the school’s drive to foster creativity, technical confidence, and practical problem-solving skills in students.

Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging and practical DT lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach across a range of technology disciplines (Product Design, Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Graphics, etc.)
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and innovation
- Monitor, assess, and support student progress through differentiated teaching
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement
- Support or lead extracurricular technology clubs and projects
- Play a full role in the school community and enrichment initiatives
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in Design & Technology, Food Technology, Product Design, or a related subject
- Experience teaching DT at Key Stages 3 and 4
- Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date understanding of curriculum developments
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- A passion for encouraging creativity, independence, and technical skills in students
- Ambition to lead and develop the DT department (for those interested in the Lead Teacher role)

You will own the technical strategy. roadmap and budget. Remit will include infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, infosec and technology compliance.
You will also lead and manage teams, including Network Architects, Designers, Engineers, Transmission, and IT Operations.
Note; this is a hybrid role, with at least one day a week based out of our Head Office in Abingdon, Oxon.
Previous Telecoms / large carrier or FTTP / FTTH infrastructure experience would be beneficial but is not essential. What is important is an understanding of senior level IP network engineering, allied to a solid skillset that enables bringing the business and teams along on the journey. You will have a passion for using technology to deliver outstanding customer experience.
