My client is a fast growing and ambitious company
They now require a Material Testing Technician to join their team on a full time, permanent basis, working a minimum of 40 hours per week with plenty of overtime available.
Due to the nature of the work, you do need to be flexible to work weekends and nights as required.
Core hours are Monday - Friday (Apply online only)
Responsibilities include:
- Operating semi-automated and automated lab equipment li>Following established protocols, work instructions, scheduled tasks and activities independently.
- Perform in-process testing to assure batches meet specification.
- Troubleshooting of processes, procedures and product issues.
- Balance multiple tasks and prioritise critical tasks.
- Manage and implement preventative and corrective actions.
- Update standard operating procedures and work instructions for processes.
- Follow all health and safety measures in place, and ensure team members do the same.
- Collaborate, support and consult with other team members as necessary.
Essential Experience:
- Site testing experience of asphalt/tarmac/quarry products
- Construction Materials Testing experience
- CSCS Card
- Degree within science or engineering.
- Previous laboratory or manufacturing experience.
- Understanding of safe working practice in a laboratory environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft packages.
- Driving licence
Salary: Negotiable, dependant on experience

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrician to join the company, supporting live wire testing works in commercial and industrial buildings throughout the Midlands and occasionally across other parts of the UK.
Duties
As a suitably qualified and experienced electrician you will be working on a variety of sites across Birmingham and the Midlands, testing the live electrical supply into commercial and industrial buildings. Primary duties will be working alongside an electrical technician assisting with and compiling condition reports whilst testing the live electrical feeds into the building. Experience of this type of electrical works would be an advantage but full training will be given. Due to the nature of the work and the environment in which you'll be working, you need to be fully qualified to NVQ level 3 including AM2 or equivalent.
This role will include occasionally working away from home during the week with accommodation in Travel Lodge or Premier Inn hotels provided by the company.
About You
Based ideally in Birmingham you will need to live within a commutable distance of B30 1JR.
Demonstrable experience of commercial electrical installations with a strong electrical core engineering background is essential for this role.
Minimum NVQ level 3 including AM2 or equivalent or JIB Graded electrician.
Testing and inspection 2391 or equivalent would be an advantage but is not essential.
Full UK driving license.
