Start time depends on where you are heading so if its route up on the coast you might have to start at 5am, if local than probably around 6.30- 7am.

Drive HGV vehicles , including Articulated units, Bulk Tipper trailers and Fridge Box vehicles
Operate vehicle equipment such as bin lifts, tail lifts, and tipper bodies
Ensure vehicles and equipment are clean, safe, and well maintained
Complete driver and collection documentation accurately
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues
Follow safe working procedures during tipping and unloading
What We are Looking For
? Full, clean HGV Class C+E driving licence

? Good understanding of EU Drivers' Hours Rules and Working Time Directive (WTD)

The Role
As a Trainee Service Technician, you will ensure an effective and timely delivery and maintenance service to our customers. After training, this will include the delivery and set up of products for patients within agreed delivery times, repair and proactive maintenance of products and support at the delivery stage to customers in various clinical environments. This role follows our Career Pathway, with clearly defined training, experience, and knowledge to enable you to progress your career with Medstrom.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Deliver clean, ready-to-use products to and around customer sites
- Collect products after use and return them to the service location
- Full cleaning and decontamination of the beds and mattresses
- Disinfect, function check, repair, and electrical safety test products - full training will be given
- Complete records of testing, delivery and collection within our computerised system
- Maintain available product stock and spare parts inventory
- Complete product modifications when required
- Provide product demonstrations and basic training to staff
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
Hours of work: 37.5 per week, working Monday to Friday, 10.30am - 7.30pm.
You will also be required to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (once trained) to support the team and the customers. This is subject to an on-call payment and additional payment for hours worked.
About You
To join us as a Trainee Service Technician / Delivery Driver, ideally, you will need to have or be willing to develop the following skills:
- Mechanical or electrical background desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Experience working within a healthcare setting is desirable
- Full, valid UK driving licence required (we use long wheelbase vans, but training and support to build confidence in manoeuvring these vehicles will be provided where required)
Personal Requirements:
- A proactive, can-do attitude
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work under own initiative, and follow procedures to achieve deadlines
- Basic PC skills, including email and MS Office
- DBS checked (or the willingness to complete one)
Please note, this role will involve manual handling - lifting, carrying, and loading Medstrom products into the van.
