*We are looking to recruit a driver to operate a factory transport contract out of our Runcorn depot. The role involves driving a double decker bus to collect passengers at the end of their working shift and driving them to Liverpool. This contract operates between 22:00 and 01:00, Monday to Friday. Occasionally there may be additional weekend shifts available but these will be agreed in advance.

The right candidate will:
Drivers in the Waste and Cleaning Service contribute towards keeping Southwark streets and estates clean and tidy.
- Act as the lead operative with responsibility for the completion of all work allocated to the vehicle, safely and to a high standard. This will include direction of other crew members on the vehicle, maintaining safe working practices at all times - especially when reversing - and wearing personal protective equipment.
- Undertake vehicle checks on allocated vehicle at the start of every shift and ensure that it is legally compliant and roadworthy. Prior to commencing work make a record of the vehicle check in accordance with all legal requirements either in writing or with the use of information technology where it has been provided.
- Complete logbooks fully and accurately either in writing or with the use of information technology where it has been provided.
- Report defects that make or may make allocated vehicle legally non-compliant and/or unroadworthy immediately. Where such defects occur during shift, park allocated vehicle safely and call Supervisor or the Fleet Service to seek advice on next steps.
We require the following:
- Full, clean driving license for vehicles up to 32 tonnes. (Category C licence.) CPC License, Tacho Card
- Experience of prioritizing work to ensure service delivery is maintained
- Experience of working as part of a team to deliver required outcomes.
- The right candidate should have previous dustcart driving experience preferably with a local authority and/or a waste services company.
