A regional civil engineering contractor is seeking Engineers of all levels to work on multi discipline civil / infrastructure schemes across the Essex / Suffolk region
They are looking for someone that wants to push themselves and progress with a reputable major contractor, there will be training provided so that you can progress from your current position.
Key Areas of responsibility will include:
- Requires a good level of communication skills
- Obtain drawings, notify any changes
- Request RFI’s and maintain tracking system to manage responses and close out
- Ensure all temporary works designs are in place
- Ensure all work is undertaken to the current drawings and specification
- Ensure setting out is undertaken in accordance with the method statement and risk assessment
- Manage the concrete cube process.
- Manage the quality assurance (QA) checks, reports and files.
- Manage and co-ordinate engineering resource to carry out and gather as built information.
- Close out defects in a timely fashion
Health and Safety
- Read and understand the Health and Safety policy and procedures and carry out work in accordance with its requirements.
- Work in accordance with the Quality and Environmental procedures and ensure the relevant forms are completed.
- Liaise with the site manager on a regular basis and report any health and safety noncompliance

My client a civil contractor with a turnover of c£600m across multiple disciplines with work across the UK.
The project is a £30m Highways and infrastructure project where works consist of Highways, Infrastructure, Drainage Earthworks and street lighting and furniture
The ideal candidate will be required to:
Lead/Promote high standards of HSEQ on all projects and monitor/ensure company policies and procedures are in place.
Champion & Drive Operation/Commercial excellence across all Project Teams.
Ensure the Project Team are undertaking the necessary record keeping relating to Site Correspondence, Allocations, Reconciliations, diaries, delay notices, CVI’s, RFI’s to protect the business.
Ensure Project Team are closely monitoring the Contract/Target programme/Procurement schedules with a weekly intrusive review.
Train/Develop/Motivate all staff under your control and ensure all your projects teams receive PPR. Ensure training is reviewed for your teams to improve business performance
The ideal candidate will be:
- Has previous experience of similar infrastructure Projects enabling successful delivery of the Project, Safely, on-time and to budget.
- Good communication and management skills both with the Client, Site Team and Supply Chain
- Understands and develops the Programme and methodology for the benefit of the Contract.
- Conversant in NEC4 Option C.
- Ability to Value Engineer.
- Lead by example.
- Commercially aware

Electrical Engineering Manager’s Key Responsibilities:

- Coach and support Autonomous Production Unit (APU) teams to maintain technical integrity and ensure systems meet required standards.
- Implement and manage Electrical and Control codes of practice and procedures.
- Serve as the Responsible Person for managing potentially explosive atmospheres (DSEAR).
- Line manage and develop the Electrical and Instrument Support Manager, fostering learning, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Lead and motivate the Control Engineering Team, ensuring engagement, capability, and efficiency.
- Maintain a five-year plan for managing electrical and control assets.
Skills & Experience Required as the Electrical Engineering Manager:
- HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of British Standards for engineering plant, equipment, and practices.
- Authorised or technically competent to operate and issue electrical safety certificates for 11kV systems (Senior Authorised Person level).
- In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical and control systems including:
- Generation and Distribution
- Motor Control Centres and Variable Speed Drives
- Instrumentation, PLCs, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- NEBOSH Safety Certificate desirable but not essential.

Job PurposeShift based mechanical and electrical role, supporting process operations and maintenance activities across the site. Working as part of an engineering team supporting process operations, led by the shift performance manager on shift.
You will be working a "Panama 2" or 2-2-3 shift pattern which is a 28-day rotating schedule for 24/7 operations, where four teams of employees each work 12-hour shifts in a specific sequence. This sequence consist of two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, two days on, and then three days off, rotating days and nights each time. You will directly report into the Engineering Lead who will assign additional maintenance activities to keep the site fully operational.
Core Accountabilities- Work as part of the engineering team to carry out maintenance work on machinery and equipmentThis includes maintenance of packaging, milling, and product handling equipment as well as site infrastructure
- Troubleshooting and practical fault finding on plant, mechanical and electrical systems
- Installation and commissioning of new plant or modifications as appropriate
- Carry out planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenance
- Reporting of all engineering activities in the appropriate format into a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- A proven track record of effective technical problem solving, fault diagnosis, maintenance and continuous improvement
