Moog Inc. is split across the following operating groups: Military Aircraft Group, Commercial Aircraft Group, Industrial Group, and Space and Defence Group.
We are proud that our people and products represent a culture where the opportunity to solve a challenging control problem is always welcomed.
Our state-of-the-art facility in Tewkesbury focuses on the design and testing of our high-spec Servo valve products. We strive to foster a close relationship with our Interns from day one so that they can return to the business where possible as a member of our Graduate Engineering Programme.
We are recruiting for a number of internships within the following areas of our business, these include:

The Product Engineering (PE) function is the focal point for resolving complex technical issues concerning the design, assembly, and test processes through the product life cycle. During the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase the team is responsible for developing effective build and test processes using tools such as PFMEA and Design for Assembly. We create the production documentation including Assembly and Test Work Instructions (ATW), Repair Work Instructions (RTW), test and nulling specifications, tooling concepts, and designs, all required to support the operations team. Following the completion of the NPI phase the PE team supports to ensure the operations team can deliver products safely, to the required quality standard, on time, and at the correct cost, utilizing lean philosophies throughout the sustainment/aftermarket phases.
Product Development Engineering
The Product Development Engineering team leads new product development from initial concept design through to certification of hardware for use on an aircraft application. We work on a range of high-profile aerospace programs providing electrohydraulic servo valves for flight control and engine control applications. We have direct access to the latest design technologies such as 3D modeling and design simulation software, prototype manufacture and test environments, additive manufacture tools and techniques as well as opportunities for training and development within these areas.
Assembly Systems Engineering
The ASE Intern will report to the Lead ASE on the Tewkesbury AG site, typically running 3–6-month projects with the objective of implementing assembly technology solutions in support of quality and productivity improvements in production operations. Projects will involve research, hands-on development, and integration of cutting-edge technologies to solve complex assembly process challenges. Project development will be based on-site but implementations will be considered for all AG sites, UK, USA, and Philippine facilities. Typical projects may include process/tooling design and 3D modeling, programming in C#/Python, database design and transactions in SQL Server, PLC programming, system build, and integration using pneumatics and electronic controls, as well as exposure to a variety of technologies such as robotics, vision systems with artificial intelligence, force-monitoring presses, automated torque tools and more.
Quality Engineering
The Quality Engineering department works closely with all departments, technical and non-technical, within the business, from design all the way through to aftermarket, and supports the continual improvement of Moog products and processes. A Quality Engineering Intern will perform varied technical tasks related to project engineering which is non-routine such as product improvement studies, process improvement studies, and the development of new systems & procedures. The Quality Engineering Intern is responsible for conducting failure analyses by utilising their organisational skill, technical knowledge, and analytical and communication skills. The end result is to find the root cause and implement corrective and preventative actions, making sure that the problem never arises again.
Manufacturing Engineering
The Manufacturing Engineering (ME) function is central to the production of complex technical components across various CNC Manufacturing Platforms, including mill turn, 5-axis mill, sliding head and conventional lathes, EDM, grinding, honing, and more. This role involves programming with software packages like NX CAD/CAM and Autodesk Partmaker, as well as validating and proving out the NC code on the machines. Additionally, ME provides daily operational support on manufacturing flowlines and resolves issues to maintain production output. During the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase, the ME team influences product designs using tools such as PFMEA and Design for Manufacture (DFM) and takes the initial concept design through to hardware certification for aircraft applications, all while achieving the proposed cost targets. The Manufacturing Engineers interface closely with many departments, such as: Operations, Quality, Design and Programme Management.
