Responsibilities as a Purchasing & Project Coordinator

- Source and procure materials, goods and services according to company requirements

- Creating and processing purchase orders in accordance with internal polices and procedures

Our Children’s Respite Home - Rainbow Corner

Rainbow Corner is a bright, colourful, and welcoming children’s home which proves daytime, weekend and overnight care for children and young people with additional needs, aged 3 to 19 years.

Rainbow Corner has 6 bedrooms and has been adapted to meet the physical needs of the children that stay with us. This means that we can provide care for children and young people who have multiple and profound learning disabilities, including those on the Autistic Spectrum, those with complex medical health needs and physical disabilities.

The ethos of Rainbow Corner is to provide a safe ‘home from home’ environment for all children whilst with us, maintaining a level of consistency for each individual child. Our colleagues continue with the children’s individual programmes such as sleep, mealtimes, behaviour, toileting, independence, emotional and social development related, in liaison with their school, parents and other relevant professionals.

Job Opportunity

About the role:

Our Residential Support Workers provide support and care to the children and young people staying at Rainbow Corner to ensure they remain safe and have all their needs met. Duties include:

  • Ensuring that children and young people are supported in accordance with their placement plans.
  • Support children and young people with all aspects of daily living and role model an exemplary approach to supporting those who access Rainbow Corner.
  • Complete detailed records and feed into placement plan updates and risk assessments where necessary.
  • Monitor the support needs, health or risks of each child and immediately inform the Registered Manager of any changes.

Weekends and school holidays are our busiest times where our service runs around the clock! During the week our shifts typically start from 2pm with the opportunity to pick up Sleep In shifts where available. 

Current Vacancies:

Permanent contracts:

  • Weekends only (hourly rate enhancement)
  • Up to 15hrs per week

Bank Contracts:

  • Providing flexible, adhoc cover
  • Day shifts, night shifts and sleep ins available

The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Simulator Support Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Simulator Support Technician, you will play an essential part in ensuring that our customer and our delivery teams have the most advanced simulation equipment available to them in order to maintain levels of activity in accordance with the contract. You will work closely with various departments, within our organisation, including Operations and Field Support Representatives, to manage the influx and outflux of equipment, conduct regular maintenance and equipment repairs, inventory audits, and prepare detailed reports on stock levels and usage. Your contributions will directly impact our mission to deliver top-tier capabilities in our European business sector. This role will be based at our Andover site 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support, repair & maintain customer owned simulator equipment in accordance with corrective & preventative maintenance processes.
  • Conduct simulator troubleshooting & fault diagnosis.
  • Carry out basic electrical repairs/LRU replacement & general repairs in line with business processes.
  • Reconfigure & install simulator software when required.
  • Prepare & maintain reports on all repair work carried out on the simulation equipment using a bespoke Equipment Management system.
  • Assist in the preparation of simulation equipment prior to deployment, including simulator configuration & picking and packing.
  • Co-ordinate the issue, receipt & storage of materials using the SAAB Equipment Management system, in accordance with established procedures, to the customer.
  • Assist with regular inventory counts and maintain accurate records to ensure stock levels (simulators & associated spare parts) meet operational needs.
  • Oversee the organisation and cleanliness of the storage & repair areas, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide simulator training to the customer during the equipment issue process.
  • Support the Site Manager as required to meet daily operation requirements.
  • Support other SAAB UK sites and field exercise activities when required.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in inventory management & warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks & prioritise effectively.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies & resolve issues promptly.
  • Familiarity with safety & compliance regulations within the industry, including hazardous material handling
  • Knowledge of electrical repairs including IPC Certification for soldering electrical & electronic assemblies or equivalent.
  • Counter Balance Forklift License, new or refreshed within the last three years.

We'd like you to join us as a Children's Support Worker with our brand new young client in Stoke-on-Trent.


What you'll be doing:

This role is to support a 10 year old boy with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. The role will involve escorting him in a taxi to and from school, and supporting him in his family home and taking out for trips in the community. You will always be working alongside another support worker for all your shifts.

Full training, shadow shifts and ongoing support will be provided.


When you'll be working:

  • Weekdays (Monday-Friday): 2 hr shift in the mornings (8am-10am) and 8 hr shift in the afternoon evening (2pm-10pm)
  • Sundays: 8am-10pm shift
  • The above hours are for term time and in the school holidays will change to Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun (8am-10am) and Tues, Thurs (8am-6pm)
  • Part Time or Full Time available, depending how many shifts a week you are looking for
