In this position, you will have several key responsibilities which will include:
- Develop a close relationship with the European power trading business to support new deals and appraise trading activities to ensure mandated exposure and risk limits are adhered to
- Use knowledge of European power markets to manage risk identification of model/portfolio assumptions, and market inputs
- Collaborate with commercial quantitative teams to progress future pricing, valuation and risk models.
- Play a key role in developing the risk frameworks for illiquid, structured and complex products and liaise with the wider Market Risk function and commercial stakeholders to enact
- Provide Market Risk input on new and group business proposals as they relate to the business. Assess the risks associated with complex structured deals and the valuation/payoff models used for physical/financial trading and hedging, working to calibrate performance parameters of such deals. (E.g. batteries, dispatch assets, toll structures, optionality)
- Lead the execution of key controls for the business area and collaborate with other functions to ensure continuous improvement of controls/processes
- Ensure Risk leadership is kept abreast of notable position and market movements
- Provide independent advice and guidance on the level of risk/return in the business and whether this is congruent with the agreed level of risk appetite
- Performance reporting for management; including but not limited to:
- Trading strategy P&L performance
- Net Imbalance Volume analysis (e.g. DA/outturns/imbalance)
- Forecast accuracy: generation and demand side
- Limit monitoring
- Fundamental analysis (e.g. weather impacts, concentration/covariance risk)
- Act as a representative for Market Risk on a number of strategic power projects
- Develop tools for on-going portfolio reviews and produce "deep dive" analysis for senior management
- Drive understanding of the design and utilization of methodologies to assess risk/reward of the portfolio, including: VaR back-testing, stress testing, scenario analysis
- Develop and refine the fair economic valuation approach for power deals, factoring in imbalance, shape, and liquidity risks. Provide steer on usage of market risk reserves
- Collaborate with other support functions (e.g. Finance, Technical Accounting) for deal support and general portfolio queries
- Support internal/external audit requirements
- Provide mentoring to junior team members
What we need from you

- Signicant Power market risk experience with an excellent understanding of market risk fundamentals (P&L, exposure, VaR, stress testing) and modelling concepts
- Knowledge of non-linear products (e.g. options), tolling agreements, renewable power, and certificates (GoOs, REGOs)
- Cross commodity market fundamentals knowledge
- Competent in assessing trading valuations, including critiquing model calibration and parameters
- Ability to multi-task with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of Fair Value and derivative recognition concepts
- Endur ETRM knowledge preferred, but not essential, experience of ETRM migrations appreciated.

At Eni , we are looking for a Senior Risk Analyst within EGEM in London . You will work on real-time front-line control and business information for management and traders, including daily PNL, risk reporting and risk analysis. You will also participate in projects to improve the ETRM and support broader commercial activities.

- Analysing the P&L by trading strategy and by P&L drivers (commodity market moves/ FX/IR/option greeks);
- Ensuring that all risk limits are adhered to and dealing with any mitigating actions following the breach of such limits (e.g. monitoring the unwinding of the related positions), as well as assisting with the implementation of new limits/reallocating existing ones when necessary;
- Identifying significant risk drivers within the business, ensuring transparency with senior management;
- Maintaining a strong knowledge of current Power, Emissions and LNG market signposts and trends;
- Supporting Front Office in new products and non-standard products approvals;
- Participating in the enhancement and development of ETRM systems and reporting platforms;
- Defining forward curves methodologies for accurate mark to market and fair value reporting;
- Contributing to the month/quarter/year-end closing and reconciliation activities with Back Office/Accounting teams;
- Guaranteeing compliance of trading procedures with relevant controls and supporting internal and external audit requests;
- Supporting other Market Risk teams if/when required.
This is the opportunity for you if you have the following skills and requirements:
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering disciplines;
- Strong experience in a market risk in trading companies or banks;
- Strong knowledge of derivatives trading;
- Strong knowledge of the LNG, Power and Emissions markets and their main dynamics;
- Strong knowledge of risk metrics such as VaR, stress testing and scenario analysis;
- Strong Excel and VBA skills, knowledge of Python/Matlab/SQL is an advantage;
- Knowledge of one or more ETRM systems would be an advantage;

**Team/Role Overview**

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for critical deliverables involving complex market risk models related to the bank's Basel 2.5 implementation in line with Citi's internal and regulatory standards.
Currently, the Market Risk Analytics group is involved in many advanced and exciting modelling activities. This role creates a broad set of opportunities for interaction with a wide range of internal functions as well as senior management within the bank.
**What you'll do**
+ The role requires knowledge of the current Basel 2.5 modelling. This includes for example VaR, SVaR, Risk-not-in-VaR, IRC.
+ Develop methodology for quantitative analysis required on various work streams for Basel 2.5 implementation within the bank.
+ Provide robust, controlled, reusable, and scalable analytics capabilities to address specific Legal Entities requirements (VaR breach analysis, Backtesting, ad-hoc analyses requested by other teams).
+ Produce high quality documentation for models, interact with the model validation team.
+ Work with existing market risk models as required, and provide solutions where weaknesses are identified in testing, or where new business needs require model enhancements.
+ Interact confidently with other risk management teams, governance teams, the front office, technology and control groups to implement improvements to the market risk models and to support any related production processes.
+ Prepare reports and detailed quantitative analysis for presentation to senior management and regulators.
+ Pro-actively develop deep knowledge of the forthcoming Market Risk regulations of the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) and its application in the legal entity **.**
**What we'll need from you**
+ Experience in Risk and knowledge of one or more of the following is an advantage: derivatives pricing, exotic products, risk management practices, regulation, numerical computation, statistics.
+ Experience in developing complex end-to-end models, including: identifying key steps, data analysis, ability to provide critical insights and original solutions.
+ Expert level hands-on IT skills (for example: Python, C/C++, SQL, Excel, and other quantitative analytics software) are required.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with people at all levels of seniority in the organization.
+ Ability to listen and understand stakeholders' needs and find effective/comprehensive solutions.
+ Educated to postgraduate level (preferably MSc or PhD in financial, mathematical or similar quantitative field), with an excellent academic record.

Main responsibilities :
- Working on projects to enhance the performance of Middle Office functions - including Market Risk and Trade Control - through process automation, improved data management and enhanced reporting.
- Conducting stress testing and scenario analysis at both aggregated and strategy-specific levels, using cloud data platforms to model, process and store stress test results.
- Analysing physical and financial positions to ensure alignment with Eni's risk framework, leveraging cloud data platforms for effective dataset storage and management.
- Preparing and reviewing daily P&L and risk reports, integrating cloud data solutions to streamline reporting processes.
- Monitoring key risk metrics (VaR, stress testing, Greeks) and implementing data-driven improvements using Power BI for enhanced reporting and visualization.
- Leveraging tools such as Databricks, Power BI and Power Automate workflows to build dashboards and improve reporting efficiency across functions, including Market Risk and Trade Control.
- Collaborating with IT to develop and enhance risk reporting activities within our ETRM system.
- Working with internal stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate data insights and risk reports.
Skills and experience required :
- University degree in a numerate discipline (e.g., Economics, Mathematics, Computing, Finance, Pure Science, Engineering).
- Proven track record of working on data-related projects within a trading or risk management function, preferably in the energy sector.
- Proficient in Python, VBA, and SQL.
- Good knowledge of market risk metrics (VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis) and product control.

- Maintaining a strong knowledge of current Power, Emissions and LNG market signposts and trends;

- Participating in the enhancement and development of ETRM systems and reporting platforms;
- Defining forward curves methodologies for accurate mark to market and fair value reporting;
- Contributing to the month/quarter/year-end closing and reconciliation activities with Back Office/Accounting teams;
- Guaranteeing compliance of trading procedures with relevant controls and supporting internal and external audit requests;
- Supporting other Market Risk teams if/when required.
