Our client is a market leading company in the FMCG sector and are looking for a Shift Operations Manager to join the team.
The key focus of your role will be to manage the shift team to deliver process and engineering reliability to ensure that the site achieves its targets in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and Environment.
You will need to demonstrate operational leadership to the team to ensure that they are engaged and are delivering the relevant APU objectives. Support the delivery of those objectives whilst leading decisions to ensure actions and decisions are correct for the value stream.
In collaboration with your line manager and cross functional heads you will Process Lead and Engineering Lead, seek to optimize the management of the entire value stream to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance, ensuring alignment with your manager and site objectives.
You will be forward thinking in your outlook and yet be prepared to lead from the front when required.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in a Shift Operations Manager or similar in an FMCG company
- Forward thinking in your outlook able to coach, add accountability to the team but also be prepared to lead from the front when required.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with all stakeholders
- Continuous improvement mindset to improve productivity, efficiency and drive down cost.
- Proactive rather reactive to resolve issues from arising
- Strong Health and Safety mindset

Salary and Benefits Package:
- £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- Permanent, full-time position
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (occasional flexibility required for livestock care)

Farm Operations Manager - Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of livestock and land management, ensuring best practice in welfare and sustainability
- Plan and deliver seasonal farm operations and activities
- Lead and support a small team of staff and volunteers
- Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are met across the site
- Maintain records, budgets, and compliance documentation
- Support adults and young people to develop skills and confidence through meaningful farm work
- Work collaboratively with wider organisational teams to deliver the farm's social and environmental goals
Farm Operations Manager - Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have/be:
- Proven experience in farm management or livestock operations (essential)
- Strong practical knowledge of animal husbandry, land, and machinery management
- Confident team leadership and people management skills
- A compassionate, patient approach with a genuine interest in supporting others
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of health, safety, and welfare compliance in an agricultural setting
- Relevant agricultural qualification or equivalent practical experience
