Metalis are currently working with a UK leading manufacturer, who are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join their team.



Job Duties:

  • Develop product design from specification to launch
  • Prototype new product designs for review
  • Export and modify Bills of Materials for designs
  • Ensure the integrity of the IMS is maintained
  • Manage progress on design projects
  • Maintain design file structuring and part numbering
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, marketing and sales
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of designs and implement changes to improve the product design



Job Requirements:

  • Mechanical Design Engineer experience
  • Competent in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of industrial processes, techniques and standards



Salary & Shift:

  • 35,000 - 40,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (flexible working hours)

As a Design Engineer Student Placement, you will immerse yourself in essential engineering processes, including:

  • Developing and testing 3D CAD design work and producing technical drawings.
  • Engaging in development testing and computer simulation, specifically using Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Participating in our comprehensive induction programme and specialised CAD training course (PTC Creo) to equip you with the skills you need for your projects.
