The Senior Test Automation Engineer position at JHI is targeted towards experienced professionals who have a proven track record in leading test automation projects and mentoring junior engineers. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and innovative projects involving Snowflake, AzureServiceBus, Charles-River, SAP, etc., and to leverage advanced testing frameworks like Playwright, Specflow, and custom in-house Python-based applications within Agile and TDD methodologies. + Design, develop, and maintain advanced test automation scripts using frameworks such as Playwright, and others, in languages like C# and Python.

What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Software QA Manager, you will be working as part of a small development team to ensure the successful delivery of new mobile software to our users.
You will continue to evolve good practice in the planning and documentation of app testing within an agile development environment, and in the appropriate use of automated testing. Contributing to the continual evolution of our test approaches and tools will be a key part of your role.
You will work closely with the rest of the QA Team, as well as Software Developers, Product Designers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters from across our Engineering Department.
Key activities include:
- Supporting a culture of shared ownership for software quality and helping to maintain focus on our customers’ quality expectations.
- Facilitating the creation of robust, well documented, and maintainable functional, non-functional, and user acceptance tests, as well as writing and executing them yourself

An ideal candidate is likely to be:
- From a professional mobile app (preferably hybrid) testing background
- An advocate for Test Driven Development, comfortable writing automated end-to-end tests (preferably in JavaScript or TypeScript).
- Familiar with git-based workflows (pull requests, rebasing, etc.) and the principles of Continuous Integration (CI).
- Self-motivated, with a track record of improving test processes and coverage.
- A clear communicator, used to working in an Agile development team.
- Methodical and rigorous, with a logical approach to problem solving.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about music, audio technology, and recording.

- Assist in the management and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). < i>Promote and embed continuous improvement principles across QA processes and documentation.
Quality Management System
- Maintain and regularly update the Training Matrix and Schedule, coordinating with department managers and QA to ensure all training is current and compliant. li>Monitor and manage the Document Control Log, ensuring accurate tracking of all controlled documents.
- Oversee the lifecycle of quality documents (SOPs, Work Instructions, Forms, Policies, etc.), from training and implementation to archiving and secure storage.
- Provide administrative support to the QA Department
- Assist in the planning and preparation for internal and external audits and inspections.
Change Control, CAPA, and Deviation Management
- Track, update, and support the implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution and compliance with procedures related to change controls, deviations, complaints, and internal GDP audit follow-ups.
- Assist in the investigation and documentation of quality incidents.
Qualification and Compliance Monitoring
- Conduct regular compliance checks using MHRA and other regulatory resources.
- Shadow / support internal compliance audits to ensure adherence to GDP and company standards.
- Carry out monthly compliance checks on import/export processes.
- Support the retrieval, review, and closure of temperature monitoring reports.
- Assist departments in conducting customer and supplier bona fide checks.
Staff Training Administration
- Administer competency assessments linked to SOP training.
- Notify relevant staff of upcoming or overdue competency tests, referencing the training matrix.
- Receive tests and maintain accurate training records.
- Inform line managers of any non-compliance, including failed assessments or missed deadlines.
Quality Risk Management
- Support Quality Risk Management and route qualification activities.
- Understand and support validation activities.
You will have
To be successful as Quality Assurance Associate QA you will bring proven experience in Good Distribution Practice (GDP) quality systems, SOP development, temperature excursion handling, and KPI management. Plus a healthy mix of the following
- li>Experience in utilising quality system processes (such as, Audit, Deviations, CAPA, Change Control)
- Excellent administrative and people skills
- Strong communication skills, with excellent English language skills, (oral and written)
- A good team player demonstrating a willingness to learn, improve and adapt
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with experience of route cause analysis
- Possess the ability to work productively and diligently, with initiative and drive, under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining high-quality standards
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, especially, Word, Excel and Power Point

Purpose of the Role
To lead global quality and regulatory strategy, ensuring compliance across the company's product portfolio. This role is pivotal in enabling market access, maintaining high standards, and embedding quality throughout the product lifecycle.
Strategic Leadership
- Represent role model or servant leader model leadership as a member of senior site management team.
- Develop and implement the QARA strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams to integrate quality and compliance from concept to delivery.
- Represent the company in regulatory compliance audits and external engagements.
Regulatory Affairs
- Oversee global product registrations and submissions, including CE marking and international approvals for company products
- Support in defining regulatory pathways early in product development, including Intended Use and Risk Classification.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, MDR, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and other relevant standards.
Quality Assurance
- Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead internal and supplier audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Analyse QA data to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
Project Oversight
- Lead QARA team in managing regulatory documentation and audit readiness.
- Support change control and post-market surveillance activities.
Team Development
- Mentor and develop QARA team members.
- Ensure training programmes reflect current regulatory and quality practices.
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership in QARA within medical devices or regulated industries.
- Strong engineering background
- Experience with CE marking, Medical Device Requirements, both EU and UK, regulatory submissions, electrical safety requirements, software validation, and international compliance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with electronic QMS and project management tools.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience working directly with regulatory bodies.
- Lead Auditor Certification
