Job Description
Who is Salvo?
We’re Salvo—proud to be the UK’s leading online Italian food wholesaler. Our story began in 1968, when our founder, Salvatore Cumbo, spotted a simple but powerful opportunity: helping London’s growing Italian restaurant scene source truly authentic ingredients. What started at his kitchen table soon became Britain’s first fine Italian food importing business.
Rooted in family values and a deep love for good food, Salvo has grown from a local supplier into a nationwide operation with four depots and a tech-enabled platform serving restaurants, pizzerias, hotels, and delis across the UK.
We’ve kept the warmth and personal touch of our early days while embracing innovation—whether that’s through our user-friendly app, late cut-off times, or expert customer care team. And yes, Salvatore’s original kitchen table still sits in our head office, reminding us of where it all began.
If you're excited to be part of a company with heritage, heart, and a bold vision for the future of food, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll work closely with colleagues to meet production and despatch priorities, always upholding high standards of hygiene, quality, and food safety. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being active, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a team environment.
What’s in it for you?
We believe in giving back and making sure you're happy and thriving. Here's a taste of what we offer:

Work closely with your teammates in the materials handling team to coordinate tasks, share updates, and keep everything running smoothly throughout the day.
Play a key role in keeping our operations flowing – your attention to detail and timely movements directly contribute to delivering our products to customers on time.
Grow your skills through hands-on experience and ongoing training, including maintaining certified competence in forklift operation and learning our stock control systems.

Your unique perspective could be just what we need. Also, if there's anything we can do to make this process easier for you, just give us a shout.
We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

You’ll need a good standard of basic English and Maths to follow site procedures and complete essential documentation accurately.
We’re looking for someone who can follow set processes and work confidently with scanning systems – helping the whole team stay organised, safe, and efficient.
Previous warehouse experience is a bonus, but not essential – if you’ve worked in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a busy team, we’d love to hear from you.
Experience operating an articulated truck, PPT stacker truck or Reach truck is helpful but not required – we’re open to supporting your development in these areas if you bring the right attitude and drive.
