About Us
The Financial Assessment Team is responsible for carrying out the means tested assessments to determine how much a person is expected to contribute towards their care services. We cover the whole of the county and work closely with our colleagues in the Adult Social Care Teams and the Income Team. The work is fast paced, high volume and varied. Some assessments are straight forward whereas others can be more complex requiring a lot of time and investigation.
About the Role
The Support Officer role is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the financial assessment referrals for Adult Social Care and Children’s Social Care. The role is also responsible for dealing with all incoming queries relating to financial assessment referrals. The role involves close working with colleagues in different teams to ensure the information flows through the system efficiently to ensure the charges are accurate. We are based in Didcot and combine this with working from home.
About you
You will be enthusiastic and willing to join the Financial Assessment Team to complete the financial assessment referrals in a timely way whilst maintaining accuracy. You will be able to manage your time effectively to meet demanding targets. You will be able to resolve complex queries and deal with people who are in difficult situations. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional.

About the role
You will line manage Children’s Practitioners & Social Workers while also deputising for the Team Manager, when required. You will also supervise Newly Qualified Social Workers, supporting and assessing them to meet the requirements of the council's Assessed & Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme . About you
As a qualified Social Worker, you will possess knowledge of services relevant to children, young people, families, carers, and groups, and knowledge of how to access relevant services. You working knowledge of the Family Safeguarding Model and Motivational Interviewing will be beneficial in ensuring timely progression of work with families within the FSS model, ensuring direct reports work in accordance with the model modules and attend group case supervision as required.
You should have considerable direct experience of safeguarding social work including child protection planning and legal casework, including knowledge of relevant law, legislation, guidance, policy and procedures in relation to children and families’ social work .

About the Role
To be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day running of the home in accordance with all policies and procedures in order to provide the highest possible standards of emotional, social and physical care for residents and for implementing the requirements of the operational briefs.

About the Role
We’re keen to shape the service to be as responsive as possible to the needs of our communities. This Associate role enables us to provide in-person/face to face work to support statutory and sometimes traded aspects of service delivery, while being sensitive the needs of the wider Educational Psychology workforce.
We’re expanding our service so that we can be responsive to increased demand for Educational Psychology work. This Associate Educational Psychologist role provides a new opportunity for EPs wishing to maintain working within a Local Authority context with greater flexibility. The Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell (MLC) is located in an expanding science and innovation park in Oxfordshire and is an internationally renowned centre at the forefront of genetics research. As the hub of the new National Mouse Genetics Network, the specialist facilities and capabilities of the MLC support a number of distinct research clusters spread across the UK to accelerate our understanding of human disease.
About our roles
Do you have a keen interest in animals, and are you looking to start a career in scientific research?
We have a full time role available for a caring individual to join our Animal Technician team at Harwell. New team members would ensure a high level of animal welfare, and will work to improve the quality of life for laboratory animals, in line with the Home Office regulations (The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, amended 2012). They will also carry out ethically justified procedures and ensure meticulous computerised record keeping of all animal-related work.
We are looking for people with a responsible attitude, a love of animals, and a willingness to care for them. Training will be provided in animal husbandry, as well as in use of our database system and in basic genetics. This training allows technicians to understand the work being done, as well as to contribute to discussions on managing mouse colonies. Further progression will include completion of the Home Office licence course, and application for a Personal Licence, after which technicians will be able to carry out procedural work.
Key responsibilities include
· Checking the health and welfare of experimental mice
· Participating in the rota for cleaning and watering of animal cages
· Addressing the welfare needs of mouse colonies
· Maintaining cleanliness in the animal rooms
· Computerised record keeping
· Reading and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and risk assessments
· Taking samples for genotyping
About You
· You will have five GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above
· Experience of working with animals, or in a capacity in which a caring approach is required, and attention to detail are essential (for example, in kennels, care homes, or working with young children)
· Basic computer skills including the ability to use digital record-keeping systems and common software packages such as Excel
· Must be able to work overtime to cover animal requirements as and when required
