The site is a specialist Healthcare & Grooming Research & Development Hub in Europe and supports our European Beauty Franchise business. The site is friendly, diverse and has a rich history in innovation in multiple business areas.
Our site is located close to the town centre and is served by motorway networks of M4 and M25 as well as the A33. We're within 20 mins of Reading Central and Green Park railway stations and are served by buses that run every 10 minutes.

Job Qualifications
What We Look For:

Start date:
The internship's duration is from July 1st, 2026, until September 18th, 2026.
Right to Work:

About You

  • Proven track record leading a technical/scientific team (5–10 engineers/scientists)
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects from R&D concept to commercial product
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical communication skills
  • Knowledge of SDDs or semiconductor detector design, low-noise electronics, vacuum systems or cryogenic/Peltier cooling is highly advantageous

My client, a market leader within their sector are looking to recruit a New Product Development Manager to join their organisation. The role can be described as follows:


Purpose of the role:


Lead the development of our products from concept through to production. This includes translating market and technical requirements into product specifications, coordinating with Product Management, and managing cross-functional New Product Introduction (NPI) activities across the business.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Lead NPD projects from concept, specification, and prototyping through to detailed design and production release.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to validate customer needs, market demands, and regulatory standards.
  • Consolidate requirements from diverse markets including food & beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial, and municipal sectors, into structured, actionable product specifications.
  • Convert complex requirements into innovative UV system designs that balance performance, compliance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate development and NPI efforts across Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure aligned execution and smooth product delivery.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and roadmap development for our products and services.
  • Manage technical documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Champion continuous improvement in technical processes and tools.
  • Mentor and coach team members to support their professional growth.


Candidate requirements:


  • Must have a relevant qualification, preferably a good degree, or suitable experience.
  • Experience leading New Product Development (NPD) from concept to launch.
  • Strong design and systems thinking, with the ability to convert complex, multi-market requirements into scalable, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.
