Reporting to the Head of Cloud Engineering, the Cloud Engineer will work on an exciting Government Agency Managed Service contract and act as the primary engineering representative for Telent, for on-premises or cloud-related technical initiatives.
This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our client's office in the Southampton region 2-3 times per week.
What you'll do:
- Act as the cloud representative for assigned customer accounts, providing expertise on cloud and on-premises infrastructure
- Serve as the internal on-site escalation point for support issues and programmes
- Maintain proactive visibility of cloud service incidents across nominated customer environments, ensuring timely updates, escalation, and resolution aligned with SLAs.
- Add value through insight-driven analysis, identifying cloud performance trends, emerging security threats, or vendor bulletins that may impact customer cloud environments.
- Assist or lead in the cloud pre-staging of infrastructure, including virtual appliances, configurations, and scripts for customer cloud deployments or hybrid rollouts.
- Attend and contribute to customer-facing meetings such as support reviews, project roadmaps, monthly service reviews, and weekly incident management sessions.
Who you are:
You are a proactive and skilled Cloud Engineer with a passion for managing cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions. You must be an effective communicator, and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers
Key Requirements:
- Experience with supporting public cloud and/or traditional on-premises infrastructure
- Knowledge and hands on experience with supporting infrastructure on VMware, Hyper-V, Windows/Linux servers and/or on Microsoft Azure / AWS platforms
- Good understanding of core networking concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Must be eligible for SC Clearance

- The ELK (Elastic Logstash & Kibana) SME is an extension of the Cloud Engineering role. In addition to being experienced Cloud Engineers as per the full description below the candidates also need 2 years of experience as follows. ELK SME Extension
- Professional experience in the design, maintenance and management of Elastic stacks (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
- Experience of configuring and maintaining large Elastic clusters
- Experience working with large data sets and elastic indexing best practices.
- Good understanding on Visualisation components and techniques in Elasticsearch.
- Proven experience in performance management and tuning of Elasticsearch environment.
- Strong experience in writing data ingestion pipelines using Logstash and other big.

Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure Security)
Salary: up to £90,000 base + 15% bonus + excellent benefits
Location: Reigate (Hybrid, 2 days onsite)
We’re supporting a leading global organisation in their search for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join their internal Insurance Consulting & Technology (ICT) Platform Core Team. This team builds and supports internal tooling and global cloud platforms, with a strong focus on security, automation, and Azure best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and secure enterprise-scale Azure environments
- Deliver and optimise cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, TOFU, ARM templates)
- Implement security by design with Microsoft Defender Suites, Sentinel, firewalls, and WAFs
- Manage Identity & Access Management (Entra ID, B2B, conditional access, entitlement reviews)
- Enhance automation with PowerShell and Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Test Plans)
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years in IT, with 6+ years hands-on Azure experience
- Strong background in cloud security & IAM
- Proven track record with multi-tenant Azure environments
- Certifications required: AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-500
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Puppet, Wiz, GitHub, Jitterbit
- Exposure to AWS
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, OWASP, SOC 2
- AI-102 certification
