ABC Teachers is actively recruiting enthusiastic and confident individuals with a background in youth sports coaching to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Atherstone, Tamworth and Nuneaton.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the classroom, develop your behaviour management skills, and take your first steps into a teaching career.

Role responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-set lessons to classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure pupils remain on task.
  • Follow the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff after lessons.
  • Be a positive and reliable presence in the school community.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Sports Coach you will:

  • Previous experience working with young people (sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, etc.).
  • A confident and professional attitude.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A desire to work in education and make a difference.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through ABC Teachers).

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Previous experience working with young people (sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, etc.).
