Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client for Permanent LGV Driving Instructors/Trainers to join their expanding team based in Leconfield. Our client is delivering training for both the MOD and the HGV Skills Bootcamp and so are looking for experienced HGV Drivers/Instructors who will train the next generation of truck drivers.
A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Have held a Full C+E (Class 1) LGV Licence for over 2 years with no points or endorsements li>Have a passion for teaching and the ability to successfully instruct drivers through both Categories C (Class 2) and C + E (Class 1). Previous instructing experience is desired, but this is not compulsory
- Have a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- A high level of customer service
The role entails:
This position will largely involve training for the MOD but may involve training for the HGV Skills Bootcamp
MOD
Delivering all aspects of Driver Training to the armed forces
- < i>Successfully instructing drivers through both Categories C (Class 2) and C+E (Class 1)
HGV Skills Bootcamp
Delivering all aspects of LGV training to new drivers, returning drivers and upskilling drivers, including but not limited to:
- li>Driver Training

You will provide clear, patient, and effective instruction, adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles. A key aspect of this role is mentoring and guiding junior instructors, sharing best practices, and ensuring consistent quality across the school's offerings.
Key responsibilities include planning and delivering structured driving lessons, covering all aspects of the driving syllabus, including hazard perception and theory. You will maintain accurate records of student progress, conduct mock tests, and provide constructive feedback to help students improve. The Senior Instructor will also be involved in assessing the skills of potential new hires and providing ongoing professional development for the team. Ensuring adherence to company policies and DVSA standards is paramount.
We are looking for individuals who hold a current DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification and have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a driving instructor. A clean driving license and a strong understanding of the UK driving test requirements are essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students. Patience, enthusiasm, and a commitment to road safety are crucial. Experience in a supervisory or mentoring role within a driving school is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a driving instructor.
- Clean driving license (maximum 6 penalty points).
- Proven ability to teach learners of all levels to a high standard.
- Excellent communication, patience, and motivational skills.
- Experience in mentoring or training other instructors.
