The role
As a Buyer you will be assist in developing, sourcing and delivering an on- trend and commercially focused range, whilst driving profit and enhancing the Peacock’s brand position. You'll be part of our close-knit Head Office team, making sure our ranges are commercially developed and delivered in line with our brand vision and strategy.
Responsibilities/ Objectives:
- Plans and builds a commercially balanced range, whilst achieving margin targets as set by company;
- Drives regular departmental product reviews, ensuring coordination across departments in terms of trends, looks and colour palettes
- Operates an effective and timely product sign off process, in line with the critical path and planning cycle;
- Take ownership of the critical path and deadlines are met with any issues being raised and action plans communicated and implemented.
- Review and analyses sales data, identifying top performing product/lines, ensuring data driven decisions are made for future lines/intakes and recommendations for improvement made and presented.
- Source, select and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimum product, prices and terms of contract. Utilizing supplier’s expertise to improve range and knowledge
- Lead meetings at Director/Head of level ensuring key information is communicated and any actions are completed within the set timescales.
- Collaborating with other departments within the company to ensure the successful launch of new product lines/seasonal collections and other company initiatives.
- Works collaboratively with the merchandising team to monitor and control trade, in order to ensure stock turn, margin targets and profit levels are achieved;
