The Geophysicist’s role at Zetica requires active involvement at every stage of a project from initial planning, site works through to reporting. At each stage, the emphasis is on quality and customer service. Zetica is looking to recruit geophysicists with a minimum of two years’ experience.
Working as part of a team, the Geophysicist will be required to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, the public and colleagues.
Responsibilities
The following are typical roles applicable to the position. This list is not exhaustive with both special and research projects providing additional challenges to the Geophysicist role:
- Preparing projects based on customer requirements. Assessing and agreeing effective techniques prior to site work, with an emphasis on quality, customer service as well as budget and program requirements.
- Competent data collection; collecting good quality data showing reliable repeatability and accuracy. Data collection is for a wide range of techniques to include electromagnetics, magnetics, radio frequency location, GPR, seismics, ERI and utility services detection
- Caring for equipment on site.
- Managing data quality in line with Zetica’s QC procedures.
- Using specialist geophysical software and drawing packages (e.g. AutoCAD 2015, Oasis Montaj, RES2DINV, Radan, IDS-GRED) a Geophysicist is expected to QC, process, analyse and interpret data.
- With supervision, guidance and authorisation, the Geophysicist is expected to undertake all phases of reporting from factual through to interpretation and recommendations. Focus on customer requirements and quality being a key consideration.
- As part of an employee development process, the Geophysicist is expected to develop through training, experience and an eagerness for further learning and gaining capabilities beyond the core competencies.
- The Geophysicist is to abide by the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality policies and lead by example in their application to all aspects of a project.
- A key aspect of the Geophysicist role is to identify new ways of working, whether offering a technical enhancement or to help improve efficiency on site and in the office.
- The role allows for gaining significant experience in a wide range of techniques, that also with proven competencies, allow for involvement in more complex projects as they arise.
