We are currently supporting a Public Sector organisation in Swindon to recruit a Procurement Officer into their growing Procurement function after an internal promotion. The team ensures that the organisation follows an efficient, compliant and value-for-money approach to purchasing for goods and services.
Your new role
In this role, you'll manage a variety of tender processes in line with public regulations (PA23), champion procurement procedures by delivering value to internal stakeholders and provide expert guidance on best practice, routes to market and compliant purchasing.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for goods and services, focusing mainly on call-offs and mini-competitions with some open tenders where applicable
- Ensure that all purchasing procedures are compliant in-line with new public procurement regulations (PA23)
- Maintain the suppliers and contract database for contract renewals and performance
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to coach on procurement processes and best practices
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by reviewing contracts and negotiating renewals

What you'll need to succeed

This is a key role within the council's Strategic Procurement Team, supporting a portfolio of projects across Social Care and Public Health. Responsibilities:
- Support the full end-to-end procurement lifecycle across Social Care and Public Health categories, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
