The Role:
As the Production Planner Analyst , you’ll play a key role in supporting production scheduling, data analysis, and supply chain coordination. You’ll help ensure efficient manufacturing processes by turning data into insights and working closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and scheduling production activities to meet demand
- Analyse data to identify trends, delays, or inefficiencies
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and production schedules
- Use planning software/tools to manage timelines and forecasts
- Support continuous improvement projects through data-led decision making
Requirements:
- A degree in a relevant subject (Analytical, Technical, or Business-related)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Confident with data analysis and Excel (experience with ERP systems is a bonus)
- Organised and methodical approach to work
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience in a similar role is welcome but not essential

Production Planning Assistant required for 3-4 month contract based in Gloucester, GL1 area paying up to 14ph DOE
Due to an increase in workload our client is looking for a strong administrator to help out in the Production Planning Team. This is an extremely busy role so needs a candidate with resilience and someone comfortable working with lots of numbers.
The role of Production Planning Assistant will involve, but not limited to, the following duties:
- organising and updating Excel spreadsheets
- analysis the numbers on the spreadsheets to ensure that the correct stock levels are maintained
- working closely with the production teams to ensure everyone is aware where products are in the process of manufacture
- ensuring any stock discrepancies are highlighted immediately
For your application to be successful for the role of Production Planning Assistant you will need the following skills:
- strong working knowledge of Excel with the ability to do Pivot tables
- experience of working with numbers
- good clear communication skills and the ability to extract information as required
- previous experience of working on MRP/ERP systems would be beneficial but not essential
This role would require someone who is immediately available as its a temporary position initially to catch up on a backlog. For the right candidate it might develop in to a permanent position.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.30 - 16.45
Pay rate: 13-14 ph depending on experience
