Requirements

As a Senior Web Developer at Brandpie, you will be at the forefront of crafting digital experiences that not only transform organizations but also deeply resonate with their audiences. Your role will be to lead website development projects, serving as a senior technical lead for the digital team Delivering bespoke, world-class web experiences that encapsulate our clients' purpose and brand identity.

On a day-to-day basis, you will work on delivering technical projects within the cross-functional digital team. Developing the technical solutions for website projects but also taking a lead in defining and implementing the best processes and approaches for digital projects. You’ll also provide a senior technical voice for internal and client conversations.  

Alongside client projects and commitments, you will also be expected to help to advance the digital team’s use of innovative technology. Helping drive awareness and insight into these new technologies, tools and solutions that could be beneficial to our team, and to clients.

You will report directly into the CTO and managing partner of digital.


What you’ll do:

  • Be the senior developer across the delivery of digital projects. Ensuring the creation of a high-quality solutions within the agreed scope and timelines.
  • Act as the technical lead on projects providing technical oversight to the design and creative teams. Ensuring technical considerations are understood and considered early in the project process.
  • Help scope the technical aspects of projects, defining functional and technical requirements to align with client and project objectives and design strategy.
  • Stay abreast of the latest web technologies and trends, continually enhancing our capabilities and offering to clients.
  • Work closely with the (brand) design and consultancy teams. Fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to research and define suitable technical solutions based on our core competencies. Including the undertaking of technical requirement interviews with client stakeholders.
  • Help to define and implement development and technology processes to make projects more efficient and to support the delivery of high-quality output.
  • Support more junior members of the development team, alongside directing any freelance developers.
  • Explore new innovations and technologies that could augment, streamline or expand our services or capabilities.
  • Support in identifying technical considerations and opportunities in pitches and proposals.

Skills you’ll need:

  • Be an expert in developing visually engaging and experience focused modern, responsive web solutions.
  • Be highly capable in full-stack web development. With expert-level knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and (S)CSS. You’ll also need experience in developing WordPress solutions, alongside an understanding (and ideally experience) in Tailwind.
  • Excellent understanding of creating interactive and animated experiences, that bring motion and feel into the digital experience.
  • Able to lead web development projects and small teams, delivering bespoke solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Proficiency in LAMP-based website development, with at least 7+ years of experience.
  • Experienced at Git management and deploying solutions through CD style deployments, alongside more legacy approaches such as SSH and SFTP.
  • Confident in client engagement, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Have a deep understanding of how to create high-performance, SEO optimized experiences suitable for modern marketing needs.
  • Have a creative mindset and be excited by the idea of working on creative projects and the opportunity to develop digital experiences for new brands.
  • Experienced in leading technical delivery of projects. Including supporting freelancers, suppliers and more junior technical team members.
  • Experienced in using Figma (for accessing design requirements).
  • Experienced in delivering a wide range of projects; from small, rapid projects through to large-scale digital projects.
  • Have a good understanding of user experience design and typical best practices related to web experiences.
  • Understanding of WCAG accessibility levels and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to navigate challenging project requirements and find effective solutions.
  • Happy using Mac instead of Windows (Mac is our standard OS supported by our IT team)
  • Fluent in English with a strong command of the language, both written and spoken.
  • Be happy working within a small but growing team. With a can do, pragmatic attitude to getting things done.

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience in developing solutions on headless CMS solutions (e.g. Contentful, StoryBlok, Sanity).
  • Understanding of headless architecture and experience in developing React + Next.js web applications.

  • If successful at your first interview; be willing to meet members of the team in-person in our central London office (exceptions will be considered) for the second interview.
  • Provide 2 professional references that can confirm your abilities in the relevant skill areas.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Developer with expertise in C++ to join our dynamic team in Bristol. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that support our Defence projects. You will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet stringent security and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C++.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Implement software solutions that are secure, efficient, and scalable.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

  • Experience in the Defence sector or a related industry is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to commute to Bristol.
  • Must hold a current SC Clearance
