The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Software Engineering Practice as a DevOps Engineer, to work alongside our team and help build out the capability.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Understanding client requirements, liaising with stakeholders and speaking with managers.

• Implementing solutions to deploy and maintain highly available and scalable citizen-facing and private services and applications
• Implementing and managing continuous delivery systems and methodologies across cloud environments (Azure).
• Providing feedback to project teams on how the platform is working
• Advise developers on how they use specific systems and configure CI/CD pipelines
• Automating and improving the development and release processes.

Key Skills/Experience:

• Substantial DevOps experience
• Microsoft Azure is essential, beneficial to have exposure to AWS and GCP
• Commercial experience hands on coding - Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is essential
• Ideally experience/exposure to Agile/Lean methodologies
• Continuous Integration/Delivery/Deployment pipelines
• Ability to advocate DevOps principles, practices and philosophy

Role Description

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the infrastructure used by our world-class engineering team and our customers. You will be exposed and expected to work with the latest technologies to build clean, efficient, and performant infrastructure and application deployments in secure cloud environments. As part of our core team, you will join us in troubleshooting customer issues, finding root causes, and deploying required fixes to ensure maximal performance and uptime. You will directly contribute to our overall efficiency and success by building and maintaining the rails on which our software is built and brought to our customers.

Our application stack is currently based on postgres, next.js, and java and deployed via docker/kubernetes in the cloud. We run code analysis pipelines based on antlr4. Git is where our code lives, and Github Actions is how it gets out into the world.

We currently focus on our core products: the Verisian Explorer and Validator. Our tooling automatically extracts full dataset and column-level data lineages and dependencies from existing clinical trials to enable validation, understanding, modification, communication, as well as trial code and data reuse. This means clinical trials are analyzed and validated faster, better, and at lower costs to the benefit of all of humanity.

Requirements

• Substantial experience architecting and implementing cloud infrastructure and application deployments at scale (Terraform or similar, Kubernetes or similar, Docker)
• Understanding of networking and experience troubleshooting integrated infrastructures in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience building and owning continuous integration, testing, and deployment workflows (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar)
• Experience monitoring infrastructure and applications for health and performance
• Experience building or maintaining data processing workflows using queues and event-driven triggers (Argo)
• Strong understanding of client/server architecture
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Understanding of and strong conviction for SRE principles

The Role

We're looking for a motivated and results-driven DevOps Consultant on a contract basis to support an established Engineering team. You will be part of a team of three, working closely with the wider engineering team to ensure our build pipeline meets their needs. You will design and implement automated build processes for our software projects, with the aim to make compilation/testing/packaging as automatic and resilient as possible. We are looking for somebody who can generate new ideas and can drive the rapid adoption of new processes/systems.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing automated DAST scans into our overnight pipeline utlising BurpSuite
• Delivering controls around Nuget Packages with Artifactory

• Writing plugins with SonarQube for password searches
• Executing terraform coverage for SonarQube
• Test coverage for terraform within SonarQube
• Integrating Playwright into CICD pipelines

Requirements

Main skills/experience:

• Experience in building reliable and scalable CI/CD Pipelines
• Experience with Playwright
• Strong experience with SonarQube

Role overview

The primary function of the role will be to design, develop, and build new products as well as introduce new functionality and monitoring capabilities to help further enhance the IAM service outreach and reporting capabilities. This in turn enables the HO to improve its reporting capability and reduce the likelihood of an internal cyber-attack.

The role also requires the successful candidate to support both short and long-term discovery within technical teams and developers, helping them understand design constraints, and workforce/cost implications. They will also report to and advise the Service Owner on the CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Delivery) pipelines, ensuring that new users are able to deploy at an appropriate speed whilst maintaining oversight of several technical workstreams.

To ensure delivery of the business's objectives, the Lead DevOps Engineer will also be expected to mentor and lead other engineers in technical tasks, as well as support any recruitment and assessment activities as required.

Main responsibilities

he main day to day responsibilities will be:

• Supporting teams in mapping their stories to the available platforms, helping effectively build and deploy secure services.
• Undertaking skilled platform build/support activities, such as developing hardened base containers
• Spotting instances where teams are not using best practice; advising around delivery risks
• Support other engineers and teams in service topology and discovery; helping to
• define QA and deployment pipelines
• Driving adoption of new tools so teams they can improve their integration approaches; developing new or improved support processes for users
• Ensuring Delivery in support of the already established product roadmap and ensuring new products are transitioned seamlessly into service.

• Reducing the IAM Cyber risk by continuously delivering against the Product roadmap

Essential Skills

The successful candidate must display a passion for IAM with the following skills or experience in:

• Candidates should have experience of Agile, ways of working or be familiar with working within an Agile environment.
• Have experience of delivering against a Product Roadmap
• Display previous experience at developing products and systems
