Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities within the warehouse, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to company policies and budget. This role requires strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.

Duties

• Ensuring a safer working environment, adhering to health and safety policies and regulations, and maintaining compliance with warehousing, handling and shipping legislation.
• Manage and supervise all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, dispatching of goods and budgets.
• Develop and maintain efficient processes to optimise workflow and productivity within the warehouse.
• Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve performance targets and maintain high standards of quality.
• Maintaining accurate stock levels, optimising storage space, and coordinating the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely fulfilment of orders and resolve any logistical issues.
• Producing regular reports and statistics on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational metrics.
• Managing warehouse budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
• Monitor transport and loading requirements in conjunction with the Transport Senior Team Leader.

• Coordinating the use of automated and computerized systems to optimize efficiency and track inventory.
• Ensure supply of resources such as pallets, packaging etc.
• Follow up customer queries on delivery non-conformance.

• Annually assess and refine FLT requirements with Head of Operations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment for all employees.

Experience

• Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role is essential.
• Experience of working within a FMCG environment
• Leadership and Management: Ability to lead and motivate a team of warehouse employees.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Organisation and Planning: Ability to plan and organise warehouse operations, manage inventory, and optimise space utilisation.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to warehouse operations, safety, and logistics.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop solutions for process improvement.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems: Familiarity with SAP & PowerBi software and their functions.
• Knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Management: Understanding of the principles of supply chain management and logistics.
• Change Management.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehouse operations is highly desirable.

I am working with a well established client who are seeking a new Warehouse Operations Manager, working on a night shift pattern, 20:30-06:00hrs

Salary - 45,000-60,000 DOE

About you-

• Prior experience in a similar role
• Forklift driving certificate
• Be within a 45 minute radius of Stoke on Trent

The role-

• Ensuring compliance with company policy and procedures
• Liaising with Operations and Transport for delivery/customer requirements
• Responsible for Pallet Force loading and unloading of lorries
• Ensuring H&S policy is always followed
• Ensuring fork truck checks are carried out and documented
• Ensuring systems are updated in a timely manner
• Manage and control staff split shifts system
• Ensuring all pick and pack contracts are delivered on time in full
• Supporting the process of continuous improvements and seeking to reduce costs to the business
• Keep General Manager of Warehousing and Distribution informed of any issues involving day to day operations or staff

• Manage and optimize day-to-day warehouse operations, including goods receiving, put-away, inventory management, order picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of warehouse operatives, supervisors, and administrative staff.
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, implementing and maintaining best practices for workplace safety.
• Oversee inventory accuracy and control measures, conducting regular stock takes and cycle counts.
• Manage relationships with third-party service providers and carriers.
