The successful candidate will manage a small team and report directly to the Senior Leadership Team. You will play a key role in managing, training, motivating, and reinforcing a culture of fairness, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a highly-focused and efficient warehouse operation, including Goods In/Goods Out and 3rd Party movements
- Lead, train, and motivate a small team to deliver consistently high performance
- Oversee the transition to a new warehouse facility, including planning, layout, and operational setup
- Implement digital processes for goods movements, fully integrated with stock management systems
- Manage stock movements and ensure accuracy in inventory control (FIFO, stock rotation, counts)
- Work closely with Stock Control and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure smooth operations
- Manage all aspects of yard operations effectively and safely
- Deliver performance reviews, training plans, and KPIs for the warehouse team
- Partner with Health & Safety to maintain a culture of safety first
- Ensure stock availability for production lines in a timely and efficient manner
Skills & Experience
- Strong people management skills - able to inspire, engage, and lead a team effectively
- Proven experience in warehouse management, including day-to-day operations and training staff in the basics
- Hands-on experience in overseeing warehouse relocation and redesign projects
- Track record of implementing digital warehouse systems (experience with SAGE preferred)
- Current FLT licence (FLT Instructor qualification highly desirable)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and introduce innovative solutions for efficiency
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and practical approach
