Cleaning Jobs Information
Cleaners are responsible for the tidiness and cleanliness of our public and private buildings, homes, transportation, and streets. Many cleaners work when operations are closed in order to more thoroughly clean the establishment without having others being in the way of their daily duties. Because of the physical nature of the roles, cleaners are expected to have good physical stamina and strength to be able to complete tasks. There are many forms of cleaners, including commercial cleaners (for shopping malls, office buildings), private cleaners (maids, home services), vehicle cleaners, road cleaners, and much more. With no job shortages in this industry, there are many cleaning jobs readily available.

Cleaning Jobs Requirements
Cleaning jobs do not have many requirements. There are more physical requirements in this job than there is academic. Cleaners are expected to be able to handle heavy equipment and machinery and prove their experience as a cleaner. Knowledge of the types of cleaning chemicals and supplies is advantageous to the job. Some companies may ask for GCSEs, but it is an extreme rarity that A-Levels are required. These jobs can be physically exhausting and sometimes require a strong stomach. New hires usually receive on-the-job training from their colleagues on equipment operation, cleaning techniques, and safety measures.

Cleaning Jobs Market Trends
The job market for cleaning jobs is at a constant due to the importance of the role in society. The industry brings in £24 billion to the UK’s economy as well as employing over 700,000 people across the country. Cleaners in the United Kingdom earn around £8.30 an hour. The wage increases depending on experience and the size and popularity of the company. For example, Marks & Spencer’s cleaners earn around £12 an hour.
