We will consider candidates based in London, Manchester or Birmingham.\n \nWe are looking for an individual with excellent team working, leadership, organisational and communication skills who can take responsibility for delivering complex assignments and working with others in the BIA team and wider Arup to deliver the highest quality, value driven transaction advisory services in the energy infrastructure space.\n \nOur market leading team advises on transactions across a broad spectrum of energy infrastructure assets harnessing a diverse range of analytical, technical, commercial, economic and business skills and experience into concise and value driven advice for our clients. Our team is consistently recognised as an award winning technical advisor across energy infrastructure globally with particular expertise in regulated utilities, renewable energy and decarbonisation.\n \nThe team is highly aligned with Arup's "A Better Way" strategy and with our commitment to the United Nations SDGs and a route to net zero carbon.\n \nAs an associate in the team you will be responsible both for your own continuing professional development, and the development of others around you to support the continued growth and development of our award winning team. You will be involved in in both business development and managing client relationships as well as delivering the highest quality work products in a transaction advisory context.\n \n Role: \n \n Leading due diligence assignments - As an Associate you will be considered a "safe pair of hands" to manage complex and challenging projects with limited support from the senior leadership of the team. You will be responsible for managing the quality of our work and ensuring that our work products delight our clients and meet their expectations.\n \n Commercial management of due diligence assignments - You will also be responsible for agreeing the scope and budget of assignments and managing these accordingly to deliver projects profitably, on time and in line with agreed targets.\n \n Client facing roles - You will be operating with a high degree of autonomy in client facing roles both in terms of project delivery, and in terms of business development. You will be expected to actively manage your client networks and relationships and coordinate with the efforts of the wider team.\n \n Leadership - You will be expected to show team working, leadership and judgement taking responsibility for the performance of the team in delivering transaction and strategic advice. You will be a role model for junior staff to follow and you will be expected to consider and support the development of junior team members in your own career development plan.\n \n Sectoral knowledge - You will have developed both broad and deep sectoral knowledge in some or all of the areas in which we operate and will be prepared to contribute this to enhance the performance of our team.\n \n Process improvement and continuous development - you will actively participate in opportunities to feed learning back into the team to enhance and develop our processes and to strive to continue leverage our knowledge base and experience to deliver high quality work products as efficiently as possible\n \n Requirements: \n \nMasters level Degree in Engineering, Finance or Economics or similar with infrastructure investment experience.\n \nAttained chartered status or equivalent qualification with a recognised professional institution.\n \nPrior experience of due diligence on energy infrastructure assets.\n \nExcellent English verbal, written and presentational communication skills. Multiple languages also considered highly desirable.\n \nExcellent team working and leadership skills.\n \nA high level of commercial acumen.\n \nStrong planning and organisational skills.\n \nStrong networking and relationship management skills.\n \nDedicated commitment to continuing professional development of self and others\n \nExpertise in areas of specialist knowledge - examples of thought leadership and active participation in industry thinking.\n \nWillingness to travel.\n \n Shapeyour time with us \n \nOur goalis to shape a better world.
