Job Title: Environmental Coordinator
Location: Eye, Suffolk
Salary: up to 30k Depending upon experience
Environmental Coorinator (Poultry background or food manufacturing and experience with managing an EPR permit)
To develop, manage and promote a suitable and sufficient Environment Management Systems for the factory. To ensure that the requirements of Permits, the business and other interested parties are considered, implemented and maintained by the site. To ensure that all relevant, training is developed in support of the above systems.
You have a responsibility to ensure that you fully comply with the company policy on Health & Safety .This applies to all aspects of your working environment , including Fire & evacuation, reporting incidents and "near misses", DSE evaluation and other regulations.
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, You have a duty of care to fellow colleagues within your area. You must work in a way that does not endanger yourself or others.
You must also cooperate in the delivery of a safe working environment and as such you may be asked to :_
· Contribute to the Risk Assessment process and the associated reduction of risk.
· Complete Safety Start up Checks on equipment within your areas.
· Report any damaged or faulty equipment to the management team.
· Report any unsafe behaviours or conditions.
· Report incidents
· Wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment and clothing for the work being carried out at all times
You will be working in a food manufacturing area and are required by law to produce a safe and legal product. Cranswick have also entered into contracts with its customers and as such you are required to ensure the agreed quality expectations of the customer are matched or exceeded. In order for the company to meet these requirements you must follow all company policies and procedures to the letter, and follow any reasonable instructions given by supervisory or managerial staff employed by Cranswick.'
You have a responsibility to ensure that you fully comply with the company policies on the Environment & Energy in all aspects of your work. This includes compliance to with the site's ISO 14001& 50001 management systems and reporting deviations from said standards.
To undertake all relevant operational, technical, Health & Safety, environment and development training required by company policy and legal requirements.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Environmental & Waste Management certificate or higher
* Environmental/Waste/ Sustainability qualification
* Extensive knowledge of Environmental legislation
· Experience in Permit management
* Communication skills - for confident and professional liaison with internal and external customers.
* Self-motivated and organised
You will assist the HSE Manager in;
Assist in developing environmental strategies that ensure Second Nature delivery
Co-ordinating all aspects of resource use, pollution reduction, waste management with the help of the site services & engineering team.
Developing pollution control, pollution inventory and recycling programmes in line with our Second Nature Targets.
Auditing and reporting on environmental performance
Collate quality data, create reports for the business and prepare environmental submissions
Identifying, assessing and reducing the organisation's environmental risks and financial costs.
Keeping abreast of environmental legislation and good practice.
Managing relations with the senior management and internal staff
Research business opportunities & writing environmental project proposals
Maintaining regular contact with regulatory bodies such as the Environmental Agency
Raise awareness, at all levels of an organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice, on corporate, ethical and social responsibility
Assist with the development and implementation of the energy & environmental management system.
Assists in changes and up-dates to related documents, legislations and records
