Aker Solutions' Brownfield Engineering Function based in AIBP, Dyce, Aberdeen who provide resource to projects and contracts within the company , engineering guidance to the engineering disciplines and Technical Authority consultancy across the company. We need a talented/experienced individual who can strengthen our team of Discipline Managers and support our ambitious growth plans within the Services sector of the Oil and Gas market, both here in the UK and Internationally. We are looking for a Lead Piping and Layout Engineer who can fullfill the requirements of a Technical Authority/Focal Point.
Provide and guide technical expertise to the business on all technical matters striving to engineering excellence within the respective discipline - act as company technical authority
Identify and organize the preparation and implementation of standard design guides, specifications, datasheets and checklist
Role model engineering excellence and ‘best in class’ engineering by providing technical expertise in a technical authority capacity including company working procedures, work instructions and guidelines
Support and direct the discipline engineers and designers measured by exceeding contract expectations
Lead and troubleshoot challenges to positive conclusion ensuring that lessons learned and embedded across the company
Conduct Technical audits across the business
Act as focal point for liaising with independent verification bodies on design assurance and compliance
Contribute and conduct discipline specific competence and recruitment assessments to secure and retain the right resource at the right time
Contribute and provide feedback in managing staff performance according to the performance management procedure
Contribute and support best in class templates for all Brownfield technical tender documentation considering external or internal best practice and in accordance with all relevant codes and standards
Educated to Degree level, essential
Full professional membership and able to demonstrate continuing professional development, essential
Chartered Engineer, essential
Fellow of relevant Engineering Institute preferred
In depth understanding of the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry
Proven knowledge of latest legislation & industry best practice essential
Demonstrable  technical expertise within the relevant discipline essential
Demonstrable experience with Degree and Chartered Engineer
