Role Overview

As STRYDE continues to grow and demand increases, this role will be critical in accommodating the consistent increase of manufacturing requirements needed to handle customer orders.

The suitable candidate will expertly balance cost and quality while at the same time come with an entrepreneurial heart and ability to think outside the box as we continue to scale operations.

This role is a key link between functional teams such as software, electronics, field and sales teams

What you will do:

    • Gain exposure to STRYDE product portfolio and evaluate/research manufacturing and assembly processes to improve product quality, reliability and yield rate.
    • Develop manufacturing processes by studying STRYDE product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment in a high paced high volume manufacturing environment.
    • You will work closely with the engineering and other functional teams to constantly achieve manufacturing improvements.
    • Provide support with selection of suppliers for electronic PCB's, injection moulded parts, metal fabricators and contract electronics manufacturers in UK, Europe and Asia.
    • Assist with drafting product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends from various subcontractors. Lead quality audits and inspections in supplier factories and conduct detailed evaluation to accept or reject work.
    • Draft assembly instructions and Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
    • Support manufacturing decision-making by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
    • Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Work with procurement team to resolve any bottlenecks in supply chain and ensure on time production.
    • Work with cross functional teams including electronics, software and field engineers to solve time critical issues and challenges to ensure production is not impacted.

what we are looking for
    • BEng in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics. MSc/MEng will be a plus
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in either Automotive, Medical, Oil and Gas or Power supply design industries
    • Good Knowledge of CAD tools i.e. AUTOCAD, SOLIDWORKS, CREO
    • Working knowledge PCB layout tools i.e. Mentor graphics/Altium
    • Working Knowledge of Teststand/Labview
    • Knowledge of Mandarin is plus
    • Able to travel to supplier sites in Asia and Europe at a short notice
    • Experience with manufacturing aspects, lean 6 sigma, Kaizen process
