Grade 7: £32,817 to £40,322 per annum We are seeking a Postdoctoral Neuroscientist to execute, analyse and report on a combination of state-of-the-art electrophysiological and behavioural experiments in rodents, as part of a research programme that is designed to develop closed-loop stimulation approaches for modulating pathological oscillations in Parkinson's disease. This post offers exciting opportunities for innovative neuroscientists who enjoy collaborative, multidisciplinary work.

In addition to having a PhD (or M.D.) or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (either held or submitted at the time of appointment), candidates should have a promising track record of original research in their particular field of neuroscience. Candidates are also expected to have technical expertise one or more of the following: 1) Electrophysiological recording in freely moving rats, 2) Implementation of complex brain stimulation paradigms in rats, 3) Assessment of motor impairment in rats. In addition, they will provide evidence of creative and critical thinking as applied to the development and execution of a cohesive programme of research

The post holder will be part of the Sharott Group, based at the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit's ( ) main site in Mansfield Road, Oxford. The MRC BNDU is a division of the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences ( ).

This is a fixed-term post of up to 12 months, in the first instance, externally funded by the Medical Research Council, to start as soon as possible from 1 October 2020.
