Reception Class Teacher - Birmingham

Smile Education are working with a Birmingham primary school that are looking to take on a teacher for their foundation stage in a Reception class from January.  They are looking to take a teacher on contract for a term or two before offering a permanent contract.

The school is a one-form entry, Church of England primary school with a diverse pupil base, based close to Longbridge, Birmingham.  They are looking for an experienced Early Years teacher who has, ideally, got at least 2 previous experience teaching Reception classes.  The school are already supporting a number of NQTs and for this reason they can’t consider one for this role.

Having visited the school and spent time with the headteacher last week I was really impressed with atmosphere in the school, the fantastic classrooms and all the staff I met.  Given it’s a one-form entry primary the school is a good size, with large outside areas for the pupils to play in and at times study.

The school is an integral part of the local community giving it a personal feel. Given the diverse background of their pupils the school welcome teachers who embrace the rewards and challenges this creates.

The recruited teacher will be working in a Reception class which has 27 pupils and a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with pupils requiring additional support and with special educational needs.

The school are looking to meet Reception teachers in December for a lesson observation and interview for a January start.  Please not this position is for those wishing to take on a permanent contract.
