The recruitment of the Sales and Marketing Director is critical in their next stage of business growth as you will be tasked with setting and executing the strategic direction for the next decade. As such, it requires a brilliant sales leader with both an entrepreneurial spirit and the professional presence to lead an already successful team. The Sales and Marketing Director will lead the sales process on behalf of the group and be the spearhead for major wins while leading the sales team that enhances the relationships and profitability of existing clients. This immensely challenging and exciting opportunity also has responsibility for new product and service offerings, and to succeed, you must have the aptitude to adapt and navigate through the fast-changing 'new normal' business environment. Research shows that there is significant opportunity to "farm" and cultivate existing clients while seeking opportunities in new vertical markets outside of their core segments of Civil Engineering, Engineering, Construction, and the Public Sector. Therefore, initially, the role has an emphasis on introducing change into the business by transforming an experienced and technically strong team into one this is profit-led, commercially creative and proactive. So What's Needed? * Someone with an impeccable reputation and career history that is genuinely a standout sales and marketing leader. * A true sales and marketing professional with at least five years people management experience that 'leads from the front' and has a history of 'driving change'. * Specific industry experience is not required, but you must have experience selling consultancy solutions rather than solely products. * Your expertise and experience will probably be formalised by a business qualification and you should have a passion for learning and personal development to ensure that you stay 'at the top of your A-game'. * Your CV must demonstrate leading teams to sustained success, ideally with figures or evidence of awards or similar accolades. As a Person: * You will be a multitalented individual with a transformational leadership style and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with staff members across sales, bids and tenders, marketing, and research. * You will have a dynamic 'hands-on' approach and the gravitas and credibility to quickly engage and gain the respect of the teams. * You will be a successful coach and mentor that is used to motivating teams to ongoing success while selecting and integrating new talent into the teams. * You will have strong commercial and financial awareness with a scientific data-driven approach to analysing sales figures and trends. * You will be non-political with a 'can do' attitude and a reputation for being a strategic sales leader and possessing a 'fair and straight' approach to leading teams. You will embrace change and changing sales methodologies and be a strong sales leader with an innate ability for getting the best out of groups and individuals. * You will be an 'enabler of change' and possess a strong understanding of 'social selling' and modern sales methodologies, including concepts such as 'inbound marketing' or 'marketing automation' and using tools such as CRMs and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to maximise efficiency and impact. * You will have a positive and proactive 'can do' attitude that passionately ensures that their strategy becomes a success. You will recover quickly from setbacks and have the courage to stand up for your own beliefs and the interests of the business. Above all, you will be a genuine team player and team leader that listens to their people and encourages an open environment where people feel confident and comfortable in airing their views and ideas for progression. In return, you will earn a significant package in excess of six-figures which consists of an £85K to £100K+ basic salary negotiable upon experience and achievements, sales and performance achievement bonuses, car allowance, life assurance, pension, private health and other additional benefits.
