Hours: Week 1: Mon - Thurs , Fri Job & Finish) / Week 2: Sun 1545 - 0045 (Job & Finish), Mon - Thurs 163 Job & Finish) Purpose of the role: The Primary Shift Manager will have responsibility for managing, via a Team Leader, all operational shift personnel to produce quality products to schedule, whilst maintaining a safe, efficient and cost productive operation, with maximum utilisation of resources whilst leading the shift. The Primary Shift Manager will be managing two team leaders (which will include approximately 60 production personnel) and you'll play a key role in maximising improvement opportunities in all areas of your control. Your key responsibilities will include: Maximising improvement opportunities in all areas of control, through continual review of operations and by instigating improvements where necessary and drive through any changes Liaising with the HR department to select and develop operational personnel and to ensure that a developmental programme is in place to train and motivate individuals to achieve performance and quality targets. Target setting; ensure measurement, monitoring and management of production performance using KPI's and ensuring control of waste materials, packaging and performance output is undertaken on the shift Ensuring employee and product safety at all times and maintaining adherence to Avara Foods standards. Controlling of the shift's cost by managing complement, minimising spend and waste and driving down cost. Ensuring all Company policies, standards, processes are met and adhered to by all personnel on shift. What we are looking for: Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within a production environment. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. Experience within a FMCG industry (preferably within the food processing industry) is desirable. Proven communication skills with the ability to motivate others. NVQ Level 4 in Supervisory Management or equivalent in desirable however full training will be given. Experience within primary processing (i.e. Slaughter) is desirable.
