Who we are lookingfor A Site Reliability Engineer who will be utilising a wide range of technologies to complete required development and configuration work needed to produce dashboards, automation and tooling.
Site Reliability is a new and key function within our technology department. The team will work with Development, Platform Delivery (Networks, Database and Infrastructure), IT Services and other teams in the DevOps function to determine aspects of applications that should be monitored, alerts to be raised and what tooling or automation should be put in place to aid issue resolution and capacity planning.
You will utilise system data to help the technology business make informed decisions regarding capacity requirements and application health in the production estate. Main Responsibilities Developing bespoke in house tooling using a range of technologies to aid colleagues in IT Operations in completion of their duties. (eg. Golang, Python, Powershell). Working with automation and orchestration platforms (eg. Ansible, Jenkins), to automate manual activity. Building sophisticating monitoring dashboards using log data, monitoring and graphing technologies (eg. Grafana, Nimsoft, Splunk, Kibana). Maintaining and administrating existing monitoring and analytic toolsets. Mentoring colleagues in use of new technologies or practices. Contributing to evolution of team processes and approaches. Collaborating with colleagues in DevOps, Platform Delivery and IT Services teams to determine requirements and solutions, to solve problems and progress work.
