Job Description DuPont Transportation and Industrial (T&I) is an industry leader providing high-performance solutions to engineers and designers in the transportation, electronics and medical markets to enable material systems solutions. The business offers a broad high-performance material solutions portfolio for automotive light-weighting, increased fuel efficiency, auto electrification, mobility, healthcare, electronics and industrials. As societal and key stakeholder attitudes to sustainability rapidly evolve, T&I is creating a new role of Global Sustainability Leader F/M/D  that will work both internally and externally to ensure that T&I is positioned to meet future market and stakeholder expectations in this critical area. The role provides a unique opportunity to work with external thought leaders, T&I senior leadership across businesses and functions and colleagues across T&I to develop, influence and help implement strategies for making the T&I platform of businesses more sustainable. Reporting to the T&I President, the T&I Global Sustainability Leader is accountable for delivering innovative strategies as well as expertise for implementing compliance initiatives across T&I businesses, working broadly within DuPont and with key external stakeholders - including customers, regulators, NGOs, media and trade associations. This position serves as strategic partner to Businesses leads, anticipate critical trends and develop strategies to improve the understanding and acceptance of the T&I portfolio of businesses as essential contributors to a sustainable environment, society and economy. This will include proactively developing, positioning, and implementing end of life solutions, monitoring industry trends and communicating critical issues internally. This role will be working collaboratively across the industry and driving implementation and include the expansion of the key programs to advance the circular economy of engineering plastics. Core responsibilities: • Engage externally to understand what is changing, who is influencing, the regulatory environment around the world and how it will influence our business, overall direction of travel and future state in terms of societal/stakeholder expectations; • Develop strategies to influence change including creating alliances and strategies to work and engage with NGOs, industry groups, trade associations etc.); • Ensure that Corporate sustainability goals and KPIs are aligned with our stakeholders’ expectations and that we have plans and programs to measure, improve and report (eg GHG emissions, waste, water, renewable energy, etc.); • Work with the T&I business leaders to ensure we prioritize programs to position T&I to meet future regulatory and customer expectations, microplastics (pellet release), environmental footprint KPIs and the circular economy; • Lead T&I’s Sustainability Network and work with Marketing Communications to create a compelling narrative and relevant resource materials Additional responsibilities: • Influence the value chain by being an advocate and champion to position DuPont as an industry thought leader; • Participate and promote corporate sustainability initiatives and develop tools and communications to be used by team members, customers, industry advocacy groups and OEMs to enable positive positioning of T&I products. Goals: • Create a clear definition of the external environment and how it is changing • Work with business leaders and their teams to ensure that key sustainability trends are understood, the potential impact on our businesses are defined and that business plans exist to prioritize programs to ensure we are positioned to meet future regulatory and customer expectations. • Lead and drive the creation of 2 external multi-partner projects around circular economy associated with T&I products • Lead and drive how to externally position and market/value price reduced carbon footprint products (like RA, RS and products made with increasing renewable energy) versus competition • Drive the functions (Technology, operations) to measure our current baseline performance and ensure action plans are developed, funded and staffed to drive towards T&I 2030 sustainability goals • Lead the development and external communication around DuPont T&I sustainability to establish DuPont as an external thought leader; • Responsible for determining environmental impacts through the development and use of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and management of a broad range of product and material issues including certifications. • Keep up to date and sharing knowledge on regulations, policy and government actions affecting sustainability related matters in markets we participate in. • Interface with external life cycle assessment experts, certification bodies, internal communication, marketing, and sustainability teams to position and translate technical information for internal and external use. #LD-CD1 Job Qualification Qualification profile: • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business or related field, with minimum of 5 years’ work experience in the formation fields. PhD and master’s degrees in a relevant field are preferred; • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in Sustainability field and passion for the matter; • Has acted in one or more of the following: customer or industry facing roles including but not limited to sustainability, advocacy, public policy, sales, marketing, technical service. Experience: • Developing, influencing business strategy and negotiation skills; • Collaboration and good transit with senior leadership teams, developed interpersonal skills, build and maintain strong long-term relationships with industry leaders and key influencers across the T&I industry and sustainability spaces critical; • Maintaining a strong network of external perspectives that bring in benchmark insights and innovative approaches; • Ability to identify and drive business opportunities to deliver business results; • Ability to work independently and be strategic in thinking in ambiguous situations; • Critical thinking skills and comprehension of lifecycle and other scientific principles needed to achieve sustainability goals. Location : ideally based in Switzerland or Germany , but the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg can also be options.
