About the job Prospero Teaching is looking for a Teacher of Geography to start in January 2021 or sooner. This is to work in a mainstream secondary school in Southwark, South East London. The school is looking for a Teacher of Geography on a fixed-term contract until the end of the academic year, with the definite possibility of going permanent for September 2021. About the school and contract: We are looking for a Teacher of Geography to start ASAP or January in a mainstream secondary school in Southwark, South East London. Teacher of Geography on a fixed-term contract. You will be focusing on teaching KS3 and KS4 students. The school has a Sixth Form. You will have LSAs to support you where necessary. The Geography department is experienced and supportive with specialists in all areas. Full time (5 days a week) teaching position including planning and marking. About the successful Teacher of Geography: Previous experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Maths in the UK. You should ideally hold a teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS preferred) or equivalent. Experience teaching in the UK is desirable but not essential. You will have excellent classroom and behaviour management. You will be pro-active and innovative with the ability to engage students in different ways. Contract details for the Teacher of Geography position: Location – Southwark Position – Teacher of Geography Type of work – KS3 – KS4 Geography Start date – January 2021, possibly sooner Contract type – Fixed Term Contract, with the possibility of permanent Duration / Likely Duration – End of the academic year Full time/part-time – Full time (5 days) The minimum rate of pay – £140 per day To be eligible the Teacher of Geography must have/be: Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student. A positive attitude and desire to maintain current standards and raise attainment across the school. Lots of energy and enthusiasm. The ability to engage and motivate students whilst making learning fun. Excellent communication skills – the school encourages good communication with Parents/Carers. A positive role model.
