This post is a limited term appointment for covering maternity. About the role and our team Ramsey Grammar School is keen to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher of Social Science from January 2021 to join this forward looking, dynamic department whose results are consistently amongst the best in the school in all key stages. You'll have the ability to teach a range of sociological perspectives applied to the topic areas, and research at KS5 would be desirable. It is envisaged that we will require the successful candidate for the full academic year from January 2021. We will welcome applications from NQTs. Social Sciences at RGS is a wide ranging subject area, traditionally based around Business related courses but recent additional recruitment has facilitated significant curriculum growth across both KS4 and KS5. As part of the Island's 14-19 Consortium the team also contributes to A level Sociology, as well as teaching students from partner schools here at RGS. There are currently six Social Sciences teachers, including two Heads of Year and an Assistant Head of Year. Teaching staff tend to teach across various subjects, typically contributing towards one subject at KS4 and often two subjects within KS5. Staff also contribute to the school's extensive KS5 Enrichment Programme, including Junior Achievement and Charity Challenge.
