What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Engineer , you'll be working within the Civil Engineering team, supporting them on the National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework contract producing highways designs, drawings, reports and documentation in accordance with the brief, timescales and budgetary allocation.
Your day to day will include:
- Preparing preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved design procedures for local and national authorities, providing support to the Principal Engineer of the design team on various design duties including but not limited to, producing design schedules, health, safety and welfare contract documentation in accordance with the Construction, Design & Management Regulations 2015 Design drawings and associated documents
- Delivering technical and feasibility studies that satisfy client's technical specifications
- Assessing potential risks, materials, and costs, complying with Kier's & client's guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required, conducting on site investigations and analysing data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
- Contributing towards technical excellence and innovation across the team, providing innovative solutions to engineering problems, complying with Kier's SHEMS and KDTS IMS, agreeing delivery targets and report regularly on progress towards milestones, overseeing and mentor junior staff
- Maintaining good relations with clients and other authorities, attending meetings as necessary, promoting health & safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees

Where will I be working?
You will form part of a team, providing 24 hour support to one our services users, with complex needs, learning disability and physical disability.
The Support Worker role is varied and the team is committed to enabling people to live a full life. The nature of people’s needs can extend to fully supporting people with all aspects of daily living; personal care, cooking, medication, cleaning and budgeting, to enabling people to go shopping, access employment and education, attending regular social events, with the people we support encouraged to try new experiences. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible.
Staff will empower people to have a wide range of experiences and to get the best out of all that they do to enjoy life.
We use a digital social care record system, to support daily recording, which will make your day-to-day tasks easier and allows you to spend more time with the People We Support.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 7:00am to 2:00/3:00pm and 2:00/3:00 pm to 9:00/10:00pm, sleep ins or waking nights, some weekends.

Role Responsibility
What will I be doing?
This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:
- promoting the independence of people we support
- supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday
- arranging activities in the home and in the local community
- developing residents' life skills and personal interests
- helping residents stay safe and healthy
- assisting with personal care needs
- manual handling
- supporting people with medication
- ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standard at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.

What you’ll be doing:
· You will provide independent review of product design and assurance of compliance with Life Cycle Management, Engineering and product safety policies
· Provide independent judgement regarding the safety of the design of Submarines’ products in the context of meeting business, contract, programme, regulatory and statutory requirements
· The provision of independent judgement regarding the establishment, maintenance and robustness of all Engineering & Product Integrity Assurance processes being executed by those responsible managers delegated by the EA
· You will establish the assurance requirements for programmes/projects and upholding these through the product lifecycle assuring that product integrity requirements are satisfied
· You will provide independent assurance of the certification & qualification of products as required through the product’s lifecycle, aligned with the requirements of the Submarines Product Assurance Framework

· And you will provide independent assurance that work is completed in accordance with all mandated Engineering policies and processes
Your skills and experiences:
· Experience of submarine Naval Architecture; Structures; Containment; Outfit; Anchoring, Mooring, Berthing, Towing, Salvage and Docking; and Submarine Escape, Rescue, Abandonment & Survival (SMERAS)
· A depth of understanding of how Submarine engineering is organised and structured and how different engineering disciplines are integrated
· Good understanding of submarine customer(s) and their requirements plus an awareness of industry approaches and standards
· Awareness or Exposure to System Design Principles
· Stakeholder management experience
· Sound technical hands-on engineering knowledge

The Engineering Product Assurance Department:
Engineering Product Assurance Department (EPAD). The role is one of six senior consultants with a various specialist skillsets supported by an Engineering manager and a team of six Principal Engineers (of a solid submarine industry and ex submariner backgrounds). Sitting outside of the programmes engineering management, EPAD provides an independent risk-based assessment on the effectiveness of governance, engineering management, and internal controls across Level 1 & 2 assurance activities. The Level 3 output also provides an independent view to the Engineering Authority (EA) and senior programme stakeholders on product/design maturity and identifies areas where intervention or improvement may be required. When appropriate the Level 3 activity should also draw upon pan-functional mutual assurance in accordance with Independent Internal Assurance.
