They are expanding their highly skilled engineering team and are seeking a Senior Aircraft Performance Engineer to join their fully remote team, contributing to the design and optimization of next-generation aircraft.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Aircraft Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for analysing, modelling, and optimising aircraft performance across various flight regimes. You will utilize advanced simulation tools and flight test data to ensure aircraft meet performance specifications, enhance fuel efficiency, and comply with regulatory requirements. This role demands a strong theoretical foundation in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and flight mechanics, coupled with practical experience in data analysis and a keen eye for detail, all performed remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed performance analysis of aircraft systems, including propulsion, aerodynamics, and flight controls.
- Develop and validate performance models using industry-standard software (e.g., FlightGear, X-Plane, custom tools).
- Analyse flight test data to verify model accuracy and identify areas for performance improvement.
- Optimise aircraft flight envelopes and operational procedures to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure performance requirements are met throughout the aircraft development lifecycle.
- Prepare comprehensive performance reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve performance-related issues identified during flight testing or operational use.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in aerospace technology, performance analysis techniques, and regulatory standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in performance analysis and simulation techniques.
- Participate in trade studies to evaluate different design concepts and their impact on performance.
- Contribute to the development of new tools and methodologies for aircraft performance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with relevant aviation regulations and certification requirements.
- Work closely with flight test engineers to plan and execute performance testing campaigns.
- Provide technical expertise to support marketing and sales efforts related to aircraft performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft performance analysis or a related aerospace engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, flight mechanics, and propulsion systems.
- Proficiency in using performance simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++ for data analysis and modelling.
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively.

Our client, a leading organisation in the aerospace MRO sector, is currently seeking a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join their facility at London City Airport. This permanent, full-time position involves working with a dynamic team in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing and defect rectification on the Embraer E190 fleet
- Conduct scheduled and reactive maintenance in a high-frequency operational setting
- Participate in AOG recovery and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Maintain high levels of safety, quality, and performance

- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations
Job Requirements:
- UK CAA Part 66 B1.1 Licence with at least one type rating

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Embraer 190 type rating is desirable, though type training will be provided
