What you'll be doing:
The Assistant Accountant provides assistance to accounting teams in the preparation of accurate financial information for management decisions and monthly reporting. The role supports one or more business units within Veolia. This position requires strong attention to detail and organisational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Prepare and process journal entries, ledger transactions, and reconciliations accurately and timely
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis for the contract and reporting results to Contract Manager, Finance Manager, and operational managers
- Preparing forecasts and budgets in liaison with finance teams - providing support and advice where required
- Support the wider Municipal finance team with audit queries and pricing queries from clients
- Support data collection and basic analysis of operational KPIs and financial performance of the contract
- Collaborate with other team members to complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in auditing processes to ensure compliance with policies/procedure and collaborate with the finance team to assist with other ad hoc tasks
