We’re looking for a skilled PLC & HMI Programmer to join a growing engineering team delivering bespoke control and automation solutions across diverse, high-tech industries. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and wants to see projects through from concept to commissioning.


You’ll be stepping into a pivotal position, ensuring ongoing delivery for high-profile projects and helping to drive forward exciting new work in areas such as EV systems, off-highway machinery, HVAC, agricultural technology, IoT, and cloud-connected solutions .


What You’ll Do


  • Design, develop, test, and deploy PLC and HMI solutions using CODESYS V3.5 (structured text preferred)
  • Work with a variety of communication protocols, including CAN-bus , Ethernet, and WebVisu
  • Develop HMI screens – from simple interfaces to advanced visualisations
  • Integrate external hardware (PLCs, I/O modules, controllers, GPS, displays)
  • Commission control systems both onsite and remotely, troubleshooting and resolving integration issues
  • Interpret functional specs, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and FMEA outputs
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver robust, reliable systems
  • Document software logic, architecture, and configurations
  • Provide technical expertise and training post-delivery


What We’re Looking For


Essential

  • Strong PLC programming and/or Embedded C experience
  • Proven track record with CODESYS 3.5 and IEC 61131-3 languages (ST, FBD, CFC)
  • Experience with CAN-bus and Ethernet protocols
  • Strong debugging, commissioning, and system integration skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and work across disciplines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare CNC programmes from planned processes, including tool definition, setup sheets, and tooling plans, and prove programmes into production.
  • Configure all supporting process elements including production routings, tooling, gauges, test equipment, work holding, and CNC programmes.
  • Determine materials and tools needed to meet manufacturing goals according to product specifications at the lowest cost.
  • Make improvements to current operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop processes and methods to meet manufacturing requirements with a focus on quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team on new projects.
  • Support the development of documentation to enhance process control.
  • Ensure all engineering processes are controlled by the quality management system.
  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging manufacturing and production technologies to support current and future strategies.
  • Present and communicate at all levels, including with customers where appropriate.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software for generating 3D models and CNC programmes (GibbsCAM preferred).
  • Experienced in machine tool and cutting tool specification and application.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Previous experience using SOLIDWORKS.
  • Knowledge of precision engineering processes including milling and turning.
  • Understanding of aerospace requirements, particularly operating to AS9100 standards.
  • Experience working to schedules and planning workloads effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to implement solutions quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels and an ability to engage stakeholders.

**SDTM SAS Programmer**
We are currently seeking a Senior Statistical Programmer II to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Senior Statistical Programmer II at ICON, you will play a vital role in the analysis and reporting of clinical trial data, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of statistical outputs. You will contribute to the advancement of our clinical studies by developing and validating complex statistical programs, collaborating closely with biostatisticians, and adhering to regulatory standards.
**What You Will Be Doing:**
+ Designing, developing, and validating SAS programs for statistical analysis and reporting of clinical trial data.
+ Working closely with biostatisticians to create comprehensive analysis plans and apply appropriate statistical methods.
+ Performing quality control checks and reviewing statistical outputs to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory guidelines.
+ Assisting in the preparation of statistical reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions to support clinical development programs.
+ Mentoring junior programmers and contributing to team development by sharing best practices and technical knowledge.
**Your Profile:**
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
+ Significant experience in statistical programming building SDTM datasets
+ Strong proficiency in SAS programming and a solid understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
+ Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
