Permanent and the role is expected to be a full-time position.
Working pattern: We operate on an office-based contract model, but support hybrid working where possible. This means you’ll need to be based within reasonable travel distance of the office and able to attend in person when business needs require, typically 3 days per week, though this may vary by team or project. Flexibility to be on site when needed is essential.
Salary: Starting from £54,000, dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

In this role, you’ll help drive the UK’s journey to Net Zero by ensuring technical clarity and implementing robust Configuration Management processes. Your efforts will directly contribute to the design, construction, and eventual operation of Sizewell C – a cutting-edge nuclear power plant that will support the nation’s energy needs for decades to come.
What You’ll Do:
As a Configuration Engineer you'll support the execution of the Overarching Configuration Management Plan ensuring a balanced application of Configuration Management tailored to the programme-specific scope. This includes implementation of scope-specific Configuration Management Plans which supports integration with the overarching Configuration Management Plan.
You'll implement and improve Configuration Management arrangements (e.g. standards, procedures, guidance, forms and tools ) to ensure adequate and proportionate configuration control is established and maintained. Review and author relevant Configuration Management arrangements (e.g. procedures and guidance). Support self-assessments of arrangements and procedures.
Simplify complex technical issues to support smarter, faster decisions.
Maintain configuration control , ensuring every element of the project aligns with standards and processes.
Provide hands-on support for change control procedures, audits, and reporting.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure Configuration Management plans are applied effectively across the project.
Train and empower colleagues to embed Configuration Management best practices throughout the project.
What You’ll Bring:
Essential : Demonstrated experience in configuration or engineering management, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of engineering principles.
Desirable : Knowledge of Configuration Management standards, an engineering degree (or equivalent experience), and exposure to large, multi-disciplinary projects.

Overview
This role sits within the Configuration and Data Management team and is responsible for ensuring adherence to internal guidelines and industry best practices across Configuration Management processes. Acting as the first line of support and training for Product Lifecycle Management and Configuration Management Database users, you'll work closely with project, product, and service teams. You will oversee and support CM activities, provide internal and external stakeholder guidance, contribute to process improvements, and maintain system compliance in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform CM activities: identification, control, planning, change, status accounting, and audit.
Maintain and distribute controlled documentation and data in the CMDB.
Generate reports for team leads, project managers, or product/service teams.
Act as the CADM focal point for one or more assigned projects, with support from team members.
Ensure CMDB/PLM systems are maintained in a suitable operational state.
Handle document control, quality checks, internal and external distribution, and structure creation within the CMDB.
Respond to and support CADM-related queries from project stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing:Lead the application of aerospace configuration standards across a range of products.
Manage and improve change workflows and configuration baselines using SolidWorks Manage.
Support design teams across Mechanical, Electronics, and Antennas with documentation and BOMs.
Drive continuous improvement in change and configuration processes.
Govern the company’s PDM/PLM systems, ensuring data integrity and user compliance.
Oversee the problem report and change notification process.
Support quality audits and customer deliverables.
Create configuration management plans tailored to customer contracts.
A strong engineering background in aerospace or defence.
Proven experience with aerospace configuration standards and best practices.
5 years in an engineering environment, ideally with product design exposure.
Experience using PLM/PDM/CM tools—SolidWorks Manage desirable.
A detail-driven mindset with a strong understanding of drawings, CAD, and documentation.
Confident communicator able to engage cross-functional teams and drive process adherence.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
Familiarity with CAD and drawing standards.
Hands-on experience with change management in both design and manufacturing settings.
