Job Description:

• Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems
• Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
• Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions.
• Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms
• Presenting results in a clear manner
• Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges.
• Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sources.
• Using machine learning tools to select features, create and optimize classifiers

• Programming Skills - Expertise in statistical programming languages like python , and Scala /java is an added advantage.
• Open Telemetry: Expertise in open telemetry stack with components like Virtual machines, Middleware like IIS/Apache, hypervisor, database etc. The conceptual of open telemetry OTLP format and making it structure
• Correlation of the streaming OLTP streaming data with many different components and convert it into action based on the applied ML on it

i am recruiting for a Data Engineer to work in Glasgow 3 days a week, 2 days remote.

The role falls inside IR35 so you will have to work through an umbrella company.

Banking / Financial Services experience is essential.

You will have a number of years of experience supporting Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data Analytics projects.

Experience in data development and solutions in highly complex data environments with large data volumes.

SQL / PLSQL experience with the ability to write ad-hoc and complex queries to perform data analysis.

Experience developing data pipelines and data warehousing solutions using Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, etc.

You will be able to develop solutions in a hybrid data environment (on-Prem and Cloud).

Hands on experience with developing data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data and experience integrating with their supporting stores (e.g. RDBMS, NoSQL DBs, Document DBs, Log Files etc).
