About the Role
We are seeking a Publishing Ethics Analyst to strengthen our team, a collaborative and analytical colleague who is meticulous in their fact-checking, has a strong sense of natural justice, and has excellent communication skills. Applicants will ideally have a qualification in an STM discipline and at least two years of relevant experience, either in publishing or related organizations, or research integrity within academic institutes. You will report to the Publishing Ethics Lead and provide support and advice to Acquisitions Editors and Publishers in their handling of publishing ethical allegations, following Elsevier and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) best practices and policies.
Responsibilities
+ Take lead on, or offer advice and support to colleagues in the review and resolution of ethics and integrity issues
+ Preliminary analysis of concerns flagged by internal colleagues, external complainants
+ Work with E&I Lead to assess issues and evaluate which require escalation to Legal
+ Communicating concerns, as needed, to AEs/CSs and Publishers for due consideration
+ Assist in drafting language for AEs/CSs to communicate with Authors when concerns about research integrity and publishing ethics are raised
+ Assist AEs/CSs in drafting language to communicate with SMEs involved in ethics cases
+ Work with colleagues, close investigations with agreed outcomes, including take down of content, errata publication, and maintenance of records
Requirements
+ Have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
+ Have 1-2 years experience of scientific and medical publishing preferable
+ Have knowledge of peer-review and the book publishing process preferable
+ Have excellent communication skills
+ Have great analytical, organizational and prioritization skills
+ Have the ability to work methodically, problem-solving and fact-checking

The role of the Expert in Publishing Ethics is to support this commitment by advising on best practice in handling ethical allegations in all fields of research, conducting investigations when allegations of unethical misconduct is raised, providing input to initiatives which aim to prevent or detect ethical issues, and training internal and external stakeholders on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Elsevier best practices and policies. The role involves support to editors, while always respecting and upholding the independence of editors' decision making.
About the Role
We are seeking a collaborative and analytical colleague, who is meticulous in their fact-checking and problem-solving, has a strong sense of natural justice and has excellent communication skills. + Assessment of activities by authors, reviewers, editors, guest editors and others

+ Providing editors with comments on potential corrections, editor notes, expressions of concern and retraction notices
+ Liaison with legal and communications experts, as appropriate
+ Managing cases involving multiple journals and networks of stakeholders
+ Communicating precisely and diplomatically with all stakeholders.
+ Raising awareness and knowledge levels of ethical policies and procedures.
Requirements
+ A minimum of three years' relevant experience, direct publishing and editorial experience or Research Integrity experience is desirable

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Compliance & Ethics, Senior Manager to provide compliance and regulatory support, advance global compliance initiatives, and embed strong ethics and compliance practices across the business. Reporting to our VP, Global Compliance & Ethics, this role will play a critical part in trade compliance and anti-bribery/anti-corruption (ABC) oversight, while also driving effective training, third-party risk management, policy governance, and compliance operations.

  • Maintain trade compliance registers, track license applications, and monitor completion timelines to support business continuity.


Third-Party Due Diligence and Global Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) Standards

  • Implement and monitor third-party due diligence procedures, embedding ABC and trade compliance checks into onboarding, contracting, and vendor monitoring.
  • Provide practical support and guidance on ABC risk areas (e.g., gifts, entertainment, travel & expense, intermediaries) to ensure alignment with global standards.

Training, Communications, Culture & Investigations

  • Design and deliver engaging training on ABC, sanctions, export controls, and ethics topics, ensuring high completion and retention rates.

  • Act as a point of contact providing practical, risk-based guidance to colleagues on day-to-day compliance questions.

About You

  • 8–10 years of experience in compliance, legal counsel, or related roles with global exposure to export controls, anti-bribery/anti-corruption (ABC), and third-party risk management).
  • Solid understanding of global trade regulations, export classifications, licensing requirements, and sanctions, with the ability to apply these in practice.
  • Strong project and collaborative stakeholder management skills, with experience tracking KPIs, reporting metrics, and executing effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Compliance & Ethics, Senior Manager to provide compliance and regulatory support, advance global compliance initiatives, and embed strong ethics and compliance practices across the business. Reporting to our VP, Global Compliance & Ethics, this role will play a critical part in trade compliance and anti-bribery/anti-corruption (ABC) oversight, while also driving effective training, third-party risk management, policy governance, and compliance operations.


In this role, you will:


  • Navigate complex and ambiguous challenges with confidence, making informed, practical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Translate regulatory concepts and compliance best practices; applying them pragmatically to anticipate and mitigate risk exposure.
  • Apply strong analytical skills and benchmarking rigor to track metrics, interpret data, and identify actionable insights.


What You’ll be Doing

Export Compliance Risk Mitigation

  • Support the identification and management of global export compliance risks, including sanctions exposure, product classification, end-use reviews, and license applications.
  • Help translate complex trade compliance requirements into practical, scalable processes in collaboration with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Technology.
  • Maintain trade compliance registers, track license applications, and monitor completion timelines to support business continuity.


Third-Party Due Diligence and Global Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) Standards

  • Implement and monitor third-party due diligence procedures, embedding ABC and trade compliance checks into onboarding, contracting, and vendor monitoring.
  • Provide practical support and guidance on ABC risk areas (e.g., gifts, entertainment, travel & expense, intermediaries) to ensure alignment with global standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to balance commercial priorities with compliance safeguards.
  • Maintain and update compliance risk registers to support identification of gaps and implementation of mitigation strategies.


Training, Communications, Culture & Investigations

  • Design and deliver engaging training on ABC, sanctions, export controls, and ethics topics, ensuring high completion and retention rates.
  • Support delivery of compliance communications and awareness initiatives that reinforce ethical decision-making.
  • Act as a point of contact providing practical, risk-based guidance to colleagues on day-to-day compliance questions.
  • Support the intake, triage, and resolution of reported compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deploy global E&C training campaigns, ensuring completion tracking and reporting accuracy.
  • Analyse compliance trends and prepare reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights.


Risk Assessments & Regulatory Mapping

  • Contribute to periodic risk assessments across multiple domains (ABC, export and sanctions, conflicts management, culture), helping produce actionable recommendations.
  • Support proactive horizon scanning of emerging legislation and evolving export regulations (U.S., EU, APAC, and other key markets).
  • Prepare reporting dashboards to track compliance data, highlight risks, and support proactive responsiveness.


About You

  • 8–10 years of experience in compliance, legal counsel, or related roles with global exposure to export controls, anti-bribery/anti-corruption (ABC), and third-party risk management).
  • Solid understanding of global trade regulations, export classifications, licensing requirements, and sanctions, with the ability to apply these in practice.
  • Strong project and collaborative stakeholder management skills, with experience tracking KPIs, reporting metrics, and executing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting policies, training content, and compliance communications.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organised, with a commercial, pragmatic mindset.
  • Developing expertise in one or more of the following compliance domains: internal investigations, enterprise risk assessments, sanctions compliance, global regulatory mapping, policy governance, or ESG reporting.


Nice to Have:

  • Proficiency with reputable GRC tooling (automation, workflows, reporting dashboards, training management).
  • Hands-on experience assisting with investigations or contributing to culture and awareness initiatives.
