This is a deeply rewarding opportunity for professionals with backgrounds in specialist education, youth advocacy, children's support work, or similar fields.



About the Young Person:

  • Has complex Special Educational Needs and an EHCP
  • Needs support to build independence , confidence , and complete practical tasks
  • Keen to develop foundational money-handling skills
  • Would love to work on a personal project based on their interests, which include hair and makeup, fashion and nails
  • Looking for a Mentor they can confide in , especially around friendship challenges
  • Needs encouragement and support when meeting new people

As a Mentor, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 mentoring for 10 hours per week
  • Support the young person in developing practical and social skills
  • Help them plan and complete a personal interest-based project
  • Encourage and guide them in handling money and making independent choices
  • Be a trusted adult they can talk to about friendships and social challenges

About you:

  • Experience working with young people with SEN , ideally in specialist settings
  • A warm, approachable personality with strong emotional intelligence
